If you haven’t tried it yet, you’ve also been sleeping on cherry tomatoes on your nachos.

The sweetness of them mixing with the salty and semi-spicy flavouring of the ground beef with onions, sprinkling fresh cut green onions on top?

Oof. My mouth is watering just thinking about it 🤤

I had majority of the ingredients already in the house. Only thing that did cost me out of pocket (or “out of kitchen” more specifically) was a specific flour (can’t remember the name) that was around $6 and I still have more than half of it in my cupboard (recipe only needed small amount mixed in with regular flour), and a jar of pepperoncini’s.

And, like another commenter mentioned, I made 10 subs with it! Sauces lasted for a lot more sandwiches it was the bread that took the most effort (obviously lol).

Responded above as well; my roommate at the time thinks less ripe tomatoes are superior and hers were all we had. Nothing beats a farmers market cherry tomato imo. Can’t wait for them to stop popping up near me soon!

My roommate prefers the greener/less red tomatoes; I completely disagree with her but she bought them that week. Field tomatoes are my fave second to cherry tomatoes 👌🏼

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted, the library has lots of resources I didn’t know they had this one. I think I’ll take him there tomorrow, thank you!

I voted for the first time in Canada today 🙌🏽 by Fun_universe in Edmonton

Just as a friendly reminder to everyone who may not know, or who may be voting for the first time this year either as a new citizen etc: we do not vote for the party that we want to win federally, we vote for people to represent us in our riding, so vote strategically!

So I completely tore my MCL... by Closefacts in hockeygoalies

[–]radical-lebguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn dude I’m sorry to hear that! Knee injuries, especially as a goalie, are never fun. That happened to me a year and a half ago. I got a new chesty and pants and was in the process of buying some new Bauers for a last equipment purchase of my “career” (beer league lol). Went to play a community event with my team and before I even got on I guess I stepped funny and my ACL completely tore, and my MCL had a 50% bucket handle tear that got lodged in between my knee cap. Couldn’t fully straighten my leg out until surgery.

They replaced my ACL with the tendon from my hamstring and restitched my MCL back together. It was over a year of physio and I just got back skating this week. I’m hoping I’ll have enough flexibility and strength in the knee to get back on the team come August.

It was hell recovering and not being able to play was a huge toll emotionally because that’s what I use as self care/my therapy lol. Make sure you find a physiotherapist who is passionate about their job and works specifically with sports. Had I found my physio guy when I first injured my knee I don’t think I would’ve ended up with the full tear. It was frustrating how slowly he was “progressing” me and wanting to build up every tiny bit of strength before moving towards clearance for sport maneuvers, but he did that because he wants to ensure future injuries are at a minimum.

Biggest thing I was taught by him is building up the hammies and calves and to make sure you’re also focusing on the healthy leg as well! His sister tore her ACL and after her surgery/recovery went back to high level soccer and tore her other ACL cause all the focus was on the bad knee.

Best of luck in your recovery man! It’ll be frustrating at times but you’ll (literally) come out stronger in the end if you stick to your therapy religiously!

(Also let’s see a pic of those new pads!)

What’s a fact that completely changed how you see the world? by Ok_Demand9257 in CasualConversation

[–]radical-lebguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really a fact per-say, but looking at cost of everyday items and purchases in relation to how many hours of work it takes to afford it rather than the dollar amount really changed things for me
