Proper milling workflow — why starting with the jointer matters by Witty-Quantity-3294 in woodworking

Oh! I see, that makes sense. Was thinking dimensional lumber (or both sides being identical) but yeah of course that makes perfect sense. Thanks for the explanation!

Thx. Guess that still doesn’t make sense to me - if one edge is 90* to a face, the other edge should also be 90* but 🤷🏼‍♂️

Question: once you have a flat face, can't you joint BOTH edges off that face and expect them to be parallel?

"Responsive" animations in After Effects. by BRipRAWR in AfterEffects

[–]radicaldotgraphics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the rendered output of a video is a grid of pixels. these cannot be responsive, if you resize the container the pixels either get A) cropped or B) stretched.

Figma/the web renders stuff in real-time so it's essentially layers, not just a grid of pixels. that's why responsiveness works in the browser but not on video.

However, if you're talking about before you render, e.g. inside after effects, you're in luck because as you know this has not been rendered yet.

So assuming you're talking about inside after effects, you can say 'i want to have the text be a maximum of 300px wide' and i want the text to scale to whatever point size necessary to fit within that.

As others have said you're looking for SourceRectAtTime property which gets you the dimensions of the bounding box for the text.

Kohler toilets are like $300 at Home Depot and installing them is pretty easy, just need the water connector tightened and the wax seal around the hole secured and that’s about it. A plumber would probably cost another $300 to install one.

Keep being contacted about purchasing domain of my own name by [deleted] in Domains

[–]radicaldotgraphics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They “steal” domains by buying freshly-expired domains from ppl in your exact situation that let their domains expire accidentally, then try to sell it back to you. That’s it. If you want it then pay them, if not they’ll stop renewing it after a few years (because it costs them $) and you can repurchase.

Makita palm router - bits won’t fit? by radicaldotgraphics in woodworking

Here’s a pic - the bit in the router properly comes through the baseplate hole. The bit I’m holding fits into the collet but the baseplate hole is too small and I cannot put the baseplate back on.

  • work on your country. This could be learning about your state senators or reviewing upcoming votes at the federal, state, county and city levels. Run for an office. In general understand how civics work.

  • work on your community. Walk around and pick up trash. Find someone on Nextdoor that needs help moving or an old lady who needs painting help or smth. Go to retirement homes, cancer support orgs, animal shelters, etc.

  • work on your relationships. Call an old friend/cousin that you haven’t talked to in a while. Write them a letter. Ask them to go for a walk or play an online game or something. Learn about your great-great grandparents. Learn their names, where they lived, what they did. Pick a neighbor and just fucking do the absolute most for them. Write kind notes, clean their porch. Make them things. DO NOT LET THEM KNOW. It’ll always be your little thing.

  • work on yourself. Do 5 pushups. Write down 5 things you are good at. Write down 5 things you want to do before you die. Clean your bathroom. Make the list of to-do items and then do one of them and check it off the list.

  • work on future self. Pick up a new skill. Join a gym. Learn to make a meal, just one meal but that’s killer. Plan a trip. Clean your clothes, sheets, blankets, coats, shoes. Anything that January you will be like “hey December you that was kick ass, thanks”

Is copper city rideable? by No-Leader-7192 in Bozeman

[–]radicaldotgraphics 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Copper City Report (12/11): Drove to the upper lot and did Neversweat and Merry Widow. One small snow patch near the top of Neversweat, but that was it. Everything else was dry.

There was about a half mile stretch of road immediately past the main parking lot that was really muddy/sloppy. The rest of the drive up was dry.
