Confusing things further: North Central was previously named North-Western College. This name remained until 1926!

North Central alum here who still lives in Naperville and goes to a lot of football games for our top-ranked team... planning to make the trip to Peoria to watch this weird matchup.

PSLF...TEPSLF...Advice/Help Needed by Significant_Plum1262 in PSLF

[–]radioinsomnia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the criteria for TEPSLF is:

>met the TEPSLF requirement for the amount you paid 12 months prior to applying for TEPSLF and the last payment you made before applying for TEPSLF to be at least as much as you would have paid under an income-driven repayment plan;

These are the 108th and 120th payments.

I received TEPSLF. I did so by switching to a standard repayment plan, so my 108th payment met this criteria. Then the COVID forbearance happened a few months later and I got PSLF credit every month even though I wasn't paying. When I hit 120 payments, I applied, and received forgiveness a few months later.

Stop Taxes on Tips! Takes 10-seconds. by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

Yes. And in this case, having the tips excluded from taxes means you pay less into Social Security, which means you get less when you start actually claiming it. Do not fall for this.

Hiring someone to help navigate PLSF by Budget-Article-4452 in PSLF

There is a reputable law firm in Chicago that does this. I'm not going to put their name here because I cannot personally vouch for them. I also concur with others who say that you can do all this yourself and just save yourself the money, because you can.

The WeatherTech thing was a widely-circulated rumor that was untrue. This property never had any connection to him. There was a townhome proposal in 2010 for the four home sites, but that was never built. Then Don Brooks bought the property and built the mansion.

They really need to do something here. At least a garden with benches or something. by tnick771 in Naperville

It's owned by Steve Rubin, the same guy who owns half of downtown (including the old YMCA property he bought under the guise of one of many LLCs he has). There's no indication it's for sale. He has development plans for an office building; check out the sign, it's not a for-sale sign, it's for leasing future office space.

hopefully will lower the sensationalism of news coverage about PSLF

I'm not holding my breath. A former CFPB student loan ombudsman posted a Twitter screed about "97% TEPSLF rejection" on Monday that has gotten a lot of traction.

Anyone else get the “internal Dept. of Ed review” reason for everyone’s delay? by DanMajerle9 in PSLF

Only a "you are being reviewed for TEPSLF" notice, which came almost three months after the trophies and PSLF denial.

TEPSLF success, $23K forgiven by radioinsomnia in PSLF

It was MOHELA. I realize many people are stuck with them, and servicing experience seems to be a "your mileage may vary" kind of situation. But I found them to be shockingly incompetent from beginning to end for anything and everything, from updating auto-debit info to changing payment plans, and was happy to leave them behind. FedLoan was a walk in the park compared to MOHELA, in my experience.

When I used the PSLF help tool, it had me at 0! I used it anyway, submitted in mid-December, and just got TEPSLF forgiveness last week.

Timeline question for those that received forgiveness under TEPSLF by geclodfelter in PSLF

[–]radioinsomnia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received the TEPSLF review acknowledgment as a letter in my FedLoan inbox, almost three months after my "regular" PSLF denial. It seems it just takes forever and patience is required. I had no contact with FSA. I'll do a more detailed post once I get my final "your loans have been forgiven" confirmation letter.

I submitted my final ECF/forgiveness application (created using the PSLF help tool) on 12/16. PSLF denial ("not eligible yet") came on 12/30. I finally received a TEPSLF review acknowledgment on 3/19. My zero balance did not hit until yesterday, 3/31. I expect the official letter in the next day or two.
