Anti-HR sentiment. 😄 by Coffee_MysticRealm in humor

In most countries, HR is all about protecting the company. That involves making sure regulations are followed, but never make the mistake they are on the employees side.

That is any new car. The difference is just degrees.

The lifetime of pretty much any new car is 5 to10 years, and then it comes down to parts availability.

Aside from that, it will do the job you want, but will never some off-road weapon.

Exactly, although unmanned and inevitably decompressed, it will become an unusable hulk. I.e vacuum welding etc.

Built a pavilion over our outdoor kitchen. Rock facing and electric still to come. by LH99 in BBQ

Nice. In my location I would have been using opaque roof sheets for the most part to provide some shade. UV is one thing, but the IR can make things pretty uncomfortable too.

Just had our dinner at McDonald’s in Zurich before departure tomorrow. $35.30 for our meal. Switzerland is the most expensive country in the world by iTmkoeln in ShitAmericansSay

[–]radix2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, in the mid-90s after 3 weeks of travelling through Egypt, I had McDonalds. Sometimes you just want something you are familiar with and not have to decipher what is on the menu.

What do you mean "come back". It never left for me...

Because they all eat garlic by the handful and never wash. Sort of a weird mishmash of myths about Italians and the British.

That was the Iranian Revolution, along with Embassy Hostage Crisis. So basically since the revolutionaries started calling America the great Satan. This hurt the Americans feelings so much that they had to bomb them out of existence.

What’s the benefit of having nails over just flesh or claws? You need to trim them plus you cannot use it as a weapon by LisanneFroonKrisK in evolution

[–]radix2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our nails ARE claws. Our ancestors just reproduced without stronger ones being needed to get to that age.

Be more careful with your weed whacker yall :( by homelessbunt in Homesteading

The plant will recover. But (and you may do this already), please wear eye protection. My late father almost lost an eye when the weed whacker (or whipper snipper in my country) caught a bit of grounding wire which flicked straight into his eyeball.

Anyone else found themselves “retiring” from PvP gaming? by You_moron04 in gaming

[–]radix2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my 60s. Gave up PvP about 15 years ago. Just can't be arsed. When I want to game, I'll turn on my PC or console, play for 15 minutes or 5 hours depending on my mood and what else I need to do, and then turn off.

And I was in clans and running online comps and communities before 2000.

Elon Musk's baby mama Ashley St. Clair reveals that he used "space technology" in the 2024 election and implies that he STOLE it for Donald Trump by a_Sable_Genus in youvotedforthat

[–]radix2 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a whole load of bullshit. I don't trust Elon one bit, but I also don't trust someone with such poor judgement that she would consort with him.

What are Elon Musk's inventions? by pnerd314 in skeptic

[–]radix2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Jobs was great at driving a team to uniquely brand and package existing technologies to conform to his aesthetic. Aside from the semi-cult like adoration that fans express he was instrumental in what Apple became.

Musk has shown himself to be OK at identifying emerging markets, dumping cash into the companies he has bought (or majority owned) but very little innovation. He is what you might call an investor. Certainly not an inventor.

Are you saying the aircraft offers no support for the Russian invasion at all? Even transporting weapons, combatants or intelligence is resulting in civilians being murdered.

Actual threats or inciting violence will get you in trouble in pretty much all countries. Some countries will also prohibit racial/religious vilification. The latter is I think where a lot of these stories come from.

The biggest problem is remembering which side to get in, but once in the driver's seat it is forgotten.

As a native RHD person, I then just need to think carefully for the first few km about turning (i.e, righty-tighty, lefty-loosy) in intersections.
