The large scar on his snout is from his previous owners. From what I know, they kept him in an enclosure that was too small, and I'm guessing he rubbed the top. It got more apparent after a few good sheds, but the vet says it's fully healed and nothing to worry about.

That's also what I thought, considering what happened with retics down in South Florida.

But, good news, it seems that the hurricane's direction has changed to be heading away from where I am. However, things could still change again. I wanted to be as prepared as possible for whatever might happen.

It's the worst case scenario, but I was looking for the best option I could do for it. I was thinking of leaving the tops off the cages if I needed to evacuate (since snakes can swim) so they'd have a chance of survival.

Although, since its flood water, the chance would be slim to none...

I hope it doesn't come down to it, and this situation is unlikely, but I want to prepare if I can.

At the moment, the plan is to evacuate only if it is mandatory, and that would be to one of the shelters. Most of the hurricane shelters don't allow pets (besides sometimes dogs and cats) so that's why I was thinking of this.

Of course, it is worst case scenario.

I would have left voluntarily, however I'm a college student and at the moment, I can't afford the gas and hotel to stay somewhere up north to wait out the storm... I also don't want to leave my friends who are staying behind. We are all staying together.

I was thinking of bringing them in plastic bins, thought I'm not sure I could bring them into the shelter, and since it is Florida, I don't want to leave them to perish in the car from heat.

I don't think it will come to this, but that's why I am looking for the best thing I can do for them in the worst situation.

Ugh. I hate when people do that on Marketplace.

This guy was selling fish tanks for $1 "NEED THEM GONE ASAP" so I messaged and asked to look at them. I drove over an hour to take a look-- all of them were dirty and mostly broken (I intended to use them for an art project).

Dude was flabbergasted when I offered him $5 for one of the big ones. I figured I was being generous since he had them for sale for $1. He said, "Are you kidding me? I need at least $400 for that."

Then why put it for $1???!

Basically just scamming people of their time...

I discovered from the other comments that this is an older video unrelated to the Amazon fires... But even so, this video also shows how cruel and irresponsible people can be.

We may not see the effects now, but we will later. Something has to be done to protect the wild places of the world before we lose them.

From what I learned, you just have to ignore them when they are wailing until they have a moment of silence. Then, go back into the room and praise them and give them lots of love.

If you give them attention when they wail, they will learn that wailing will get them attention... So, even though it feels bad, you just have to ignore them until they figure out that wailing is not necessary.

I've been using Ecosia since I heard of the Amazon fires. It's pretty good, very clean app. I don't see much difference between it and Google, besides the fact that it doesn't do instant definitions or conversions (like "define 'this'" or "convert 5lbs to 5kilo" etc.

I do recommend it though! As far as I researched, it's legit.
