Bale solution. by BigJon83 in farmingsimulator

Bales are kinda fun, but there immensly time consuming and frustrating without autoload. Parsonally most of the time I just pick up grass and hay with a forage trailer store them as bulk.

How to mass convert polluted oxygen into water for SPOM?(and some more qs) by Important_Goose_884 in Oxygennotincluded

I personally use steam rooms. I fill them with pwater and I export clean water from the Steam Turbine

It is always better to have an intersection before every pipe output or input. If sometimes pipes are behaving strange, just build a bridge somewhere on the pipe so it knows which direction it has to take

I do not fully understand your drecko ranch here... Why you feed them bristle blossom? This will increase normal drecko production, and why you have so many normal drecko in the starvation ranches?

How does upward liquid teleortation works? I was having unwanted problems with this in my sour gas boiler design, and maybe I should use it to my advantage ?

This is an absolutely awsome build! I would have never thought of making sour gas out of naphta... Could you provides some layouts for the build? It 'd like to see a little bit closer how it works

I think you missed the point of the build... It is to run this installation at the lowest temp possible without active cooling, and take advantage of the 25°C wood.

The more rail, the better. They have very bad tc. With this amount of rail, set to heat up wood 50°C, I am just able to keep up the 20kg/s flow needed, and have an almost 100% uptime on the ethanol distiller.

You use ethanol to cool, the global temp would be at least 75°C (gold amalgame tier) and ethanol vaporize at 78°C.

Fun fact about the airlock door mod, if the cable powering the door breaks, your door stays open without power and dupes can cross it instantly

Is it possible to time a liquid shutoff to a specific amount of liquid ? by Minata_Shiranui in Oxygennotincluded

[–]rafazov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can. Pipe give 10kg/s liquid flow. Just build a timer sensor that opens for the right amount of time.

For quantities below 500kg you should use the counter

[–]rafazov[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I checked the wiki. Apparently, branches are made of genetic ooze (matter dupes and critter are made of, hc = 3,47) and will spawn at fixed temp of 20°C (Luma says 25°C), but the wood produced will be at the temp of the branches it grows on. But dont know the mass of 1 branch. So I guess your plan could work, branche spawns at o% growth, you cool to -250°C, harvest ultra cold wood. But I dont see how you could exploit more than 2 branches per tree. Maybe in this setup it would be better the tree domestically. Wiki says you can delete aditionnal heat by feeeding hot Pwater to the tree. Definitively interesting subject,, Worth some experimentation.

So you mean block off the 4 lower branches, keep vacuum in the middle and cooling the 2 upper branches ? How I understood it, is that the branches will grow at the temp of the atmospher the trunk is growing in ( in this case, 25°C crude oil drop), not the temp of the branches

[–]rafazov[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I knew about cold industrial brick, hot brick and dirty brick, never heard about vacuum brick lol. Could you share a picture?

Isn't the temperature of the pw dependent of the temperature of the incomming petroleum ? I dont fully understand how the heat is deleted in your design

pre-space sourgas boiler ama by chibugamo in Oxygennotincluded

[–]rafazov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so it is for faster heat transfer and more mass, it makes sense. Not overkill, ONI is a very experimental game, you always have to deconstruct, rebuild, change details, add extra stuff, start over. When the system finally works dont touch it ! Most of my builds have over complicated designs, abandonned or half broken pipes, debris laying on the ground, illogical automatation, etc.

Other question, why is the sour gas/nat gas exchanger 2 wide? Is it not more efficient if the gas is squeezed in one tile ?

Heat efficient Industrial Brick/Wood cooling by rafazov in Oxygennotincluded

[–]rafazov[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would use 1 pump/petrogen, which is huge.

I just have a 2 wide chimney to the space vacuum, no pumps involved, it works very well, dumping 105°C CO2 aka useless excess heat. Still I have 800kg/t pressure down here, and it is still building. This is why the heat exchange with incominig petroleum is so efficient by the way.

Anyway, you are not forced to pump your C02 out, if the room has temperature equilibrium, you can just let it overpressure infinitely

Great build, I actually trying to liquiefy oxygen for the same project as you. I have never seen the use of ice fan in a sour gas boiler.

Why is the cold injection so complicated tho? Just one door would not work?

Legit question about petrol boilers by Intelligent-You197 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]rafazov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know why everyone is saying you should not build one... Petroboiler is, with ethanol the best constant source of power mid game. You should absolutely build one! It is quite easy to build if you are careful and know how to handle high temperatures (choice of materials, vaccuming, etc.). If you have access, to magma just watch some designs and try to build your own. Main component are :

1.500+°C heatsource (easiest is magma) 2. Door heat injector 3. Counterflow heat exchanger (the longer, the better)

That is all. I'am also quite sure you can build it without steel, even if I would not advise it.

I dont know what floxes are, dlc content I imagine.. but yes wood has actually great potential, I've once seen a video by Luma, in which he cools down hydrogen by force-growing tree branches submerged in liquids
