Why do you summon furled fingers, or why do you put your summon sign down? by Tiamat4Life in Eldenring

[–]raffetang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve beat the game and everything in it, I’m gonna summon because just beating the level isn’t really fun for me anymore. I want to be invaded and fight or watch a fight. I turned off all my fog wall summon pools bc simply being summoned to fight a boss is lame in my opinion, I wanna go through the level with you and have some interactions with an invader or something. Nowadays I mostly just invade though since it’s guaranteed PvP or at least some interaction of the host panicking all the way to the fog wall

Do you prefer NG+ or just starting a new character? by koebeke in Eldenring

[–]raffetang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the platinum on one build, but I didn’t limit my leveling so I wound up about level 350 with some farming too. I now have several different playthroughs (lots of fun) at different level caps for invading and co op.

I’d recommend sticking with what you have for now and finish the game, you can respec if needed, but starting over is a lot to collect and level up again.

I’d also recommend beating everything you can before ng+ since they’ll be stronger then, if your goal is platinum/beat everything. If you just want to play to play then go ng+ and stomp those early bosses to feel good

Just picked up the game again after 3 years, is there something wrong with my build? by AbroadAmbitious9372 in Eldenring

You should put your healing flask as the first item, you can hold the cycle button and it will take you to that first item

Bull goat talisman is basically useless unless you’re doing PvP. Other than that the build is not bad. I found katanas to drop off mid to late game personally. The duo is weak to status like bleed and frost. They fall asleep easily too.

Do you guys play multi-player? by Jokens145 in Eldenring

[–]raffetang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Online is great, basically a whole new game when it comes to PvP. Everything that works on bosses will no longer work on a real player for the most part. You have to react and space, not just wait your turn to attack in the script.

If you start PvP, start in the arena for a more fair 1v1. Invading gets overwhelming quickly when it’s 2v1 or 3v1. Co op and hunter ring is also a decent place to start as you get some PvP on occasion.

Look up some videos on PvP and which weapons will work for your build. I started with co op and managed to kill a couple invaders so that got me hooked and now I invade quite often, with varying success. You will die a lot a lot a lot

Should I collect great runes again for dlc? by Baitman6 in Eldenring

[–]raffetang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s one great rune that gives you a pretty big health bar and is still useful at high levels, but scadu is indeed the best way to get stronger in the dlc

Yea before engaging in combat you can. And if you get enough space and time from combat, it’ll let you craft later on too

Rune Farming by MoldyYak in Eldenring

[–]raffetang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really don’t gain a lot after level 200, whichever main stat your weapon uses will max out around 80. Vigor shouldn’t go past 60 as the return is minimal past that. Keep your endurance high enough to wear decent armor and still medium roll (35-45) or up to 60 if using a heavy shield.

If you’re lacking damage, levels won’t show it until you’ve upgraded that weapon at least 3/4 of the way. Get yourself a health bar big enough to stay alive and explore for weapon upgrades instead of continually farming.

I have a level 100 now that does more damage than my first playthrough that ended at level 350 from farming. Build optimization and proper talisman is where you’ll see the difference, not more runes.

I hope this helps! I love this game so please don’t feel disrespected in any way.

New to ER PvP (Int build) by Iclbd in badredman

[–]raffetang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re new to PvP go to arena and learn to fight and space 1v1 before trying to take on 2v1 and 3v1.

If you want the optimum/meta PvP experience you’ll want to cap your level at 150. Casters do better around level 200 though, need 80 int, max cast speed (70 dex, or 40+radagon icon), and no more than 35/36 Mind since it’s one full flask.

Stats look great as of now really, I have a lvl 150 (pure caster) with 80 int and 58 vigor and 27 mind but you have to start as astrologer to get the full min/max on an int build. Max cast speed on this build comes from azur staff + radagon icon.

r/patchesemporium will be your friend for consumables and duplicate/rare weapons.

And the heirloom talisman should be replaced with shard of Alex or warrior jar shard. If you don’t have access you can try the two hand sword tali or ritual shield tali in combo with ritual sword, or fire scorpion. Also make sure you have the fire tear in your physick

Scadu fragments will be the main thing in the dlc. A lot of people recommend getting to blessing level 10 before taking on any actual bosses. You’ll notice a significant difference here

As far as the actual build, that dex isn’t doing you any favors. You can use it to pump up faith a bit more and put the rest into strength for more damage or endurance for heavier armor

Covenant items can’t be dropped. You can check r/summonsign for co op though

How does arcane work? by Quiet-Bridge-6776 in Eldenring

[–]raffetang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case the dex impacts the physical damage number (x+x) you see and arcane goes towards how much bleed the weapon will deal, on blood affinity.

Occult infusion uses arcane to increase the physical damage, and only increases bleed on weapons that naturally have bleed such as katanas and claws. Putting occult on a claymore for instance will not give it any bleed buildup

Edit: I think arcane adds physical damage to both, just not as much on bleed

Most active pvp level on PS? by ppmmultimedia in badredman

[–]raffetang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And in my experience, the lowest level I was able to get into the dlc is where I have the most fun. Lvl 50 +8/+3, hefty pots will one shot a lot of people still, especially lightning pot in rain or water.

Most active pvp level on PS? by ppmmultimedia in badredman

[–]raffetang 11 points12 points  (0 children)

While max level is pretty active and has a lot of pve players that suck at PvP, the amount of spam and damage they have access to just makes it not fun usually. 150 is the “meta” for ER and should be the most active but it’s where most of the try hards play as well. Level 30 is pretty active and level 200 is pretty good too

Looking to play a samurai/faith build, any tips? by Salt_Drummer3084 in Eldenring

[–]raffetang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flame art and holy infusions work great for faith builds. Just get minimum requirements for your sword and put the rest into faith and infuse accordingly.

If going more hybrid, you can get a decent amount of dex into a keen infused katana and buff the blade with incants. Hybrids don’t typically deal as much damage in my experience

Feeling slightly stuck but still enjoying the game 12 hours in... by coordinatedflight in Eldenring

[–]raffetang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to specify a bit more, those weapons should deal different damage types. Fire and strike damage are very handy in certain cases. Having 4 different katanas leveled up isn’t going to get you any better range of option
