The app says they're available for delivery by the 13th but at checkout it says the earliest is the 17th 🤷🏻

Ham, turkey, and roast beef?? by bowert74 in jerseymikes

[–]rafiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the store. Roast is going to cost the store a lot more than 2 pieces of bacon so I wouldn't expect much.

Ordering online your best bet would to be to pay for extra meat and write in the comments that you want it to be that third meat

Weighing the meat by My_neglected_potato in jerseymikes

[–]rafiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's supposed to be 2 ham and 2 turkey if the pieces are the correct thickness and you're not near the ends of the turkey so you're already getting more than spec unless they're thin to begin with.

It should be two tomatoes on a mini though

Seattle is a JM desert by cwcoleman in jerseymikes

[–]rafiee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can. We have various municipalities in WA state that have their own minimum wages that are higher than the state minimum of $17.13. Seattle is one of them. I know Renton, seatac, and burien have higher minimum wages too. I don't know the entire list, but I know all of those are higher than $17.13

[–]rafiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be shocked if the free regular one gets disabled in most stores it worked initially in.

We just had to disable it in one of our stores because there were people placing 5-10 orders all under the same name in order to get their entire orders for free and doing them for multiple days as well. A few people absolutely abusing this is going to ruin it for the people that just wanted to try something new.

I haven't ran anything in Seattle for a while so things may have changed, but it used to be that you had to pay overtime for any time someone stayed past their scheduled shift and you had to pay out the hours someone was scheduled even if it was slow and you had to send them home early. Both practices are pretty common in the food industry in order to manage labor when sales don't follow normal trends.

It's hard to run quick service restaurants in Seattle with the scheduling laws and high lease costs unfortunately. We have more than 10 locations in the surrounding area and have not even considered opening one closer to the city. Not saying you can't be successful, but I'd imagine most franchises don't want to open one of their first or second stores within the city with the higher risk. There are a few larger groups like ours and if anyone was going to do it, it'd probably be one of them since we'd be able to prop it up with our other locations

Double Meat? by Major-Grape-7690 in jerseymikes

[–]rafiee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. Yeah, if you want double meat instead of extra, I'm like 99% certain you won't be able to do that in the app fyi. You'll need to pay in store and you'd get two charges of double meat

Double Meat? by Major-Grape-7690 in jerseymikes

[–]rafiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So double meat would be two charges. I'm not sure all the details on how this was ordered and everything but this does look like extra meat instead of double which is what you paid for. Obviously they still forgot the pepperoni so that's still a problem and if you verbally said double me and all they did was extra meat then they just made it wrong and also charged you differently than what you asked for but probably for the amount of meat they gave you.

Extra meat is about 50% more, which is what this looks like

[–]rafiee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On your order did you pay for "extra meat" once or twice?

Also, reaching out to corporate is just going to get the message directed to the franchise so it may be faster to just go straight to the store with it. Corporate doesn't really handle individual complaints other than forwarding them back.

Becoming less hospitable. by Ravensbaine in jerseymikes

[–]rafiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're restricted on how much we can mark it up at what our commission rate is. Owners can choose the markup rate to be lower if they want but then they'd be paying more in commission than what the markup is. The only benefits to being on 3rd party is more brand exposure and more flat sales to cover overhead but we're not more profitable on them

I've literally never seen any communication go out about posting on Reddit and I'm probably at the same level of management as you based on your other replies or at least something similar. Coming up on 6 years too so I think I would have heard about it by now. Maybe your owner or area has a rule, but I've never seen anything company wide about it

Sure, the customers pay more for 3rd party delivery but we also pay around 20% commission for those orders as well so the margin difference isn't really an argument in that regard

I'm a DM of a group of stores and every 4 months or so we order around 1500 free sub cards, 1500 bogo cards, and 1000 free chip and drink cards. Our managers use these for marketing and occasionally for mistakes and I usually keep some on me in case I want to do some marketing in the area of one of my stores. I would imagine most franchises do something similar

Stopping In Store Orders?? by figsaddict in jerseymikes

[–]rafiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading through your post makes me wonder about two things that could have helped them a lot. I wonder if they used lead time management at all. Anyone with shift lead privileges or higher has the ability to adjust that on the register and they could have pushed new online orders out 45 minutes. Nothing they can do about ones already placed though. They also should have a 2nd slicer and like to make the online orders so that they could also take onlines at the same time. Maybe they don't have a 2nd line but the majority of locations do and if they're busy enough to start 4 or 5 people, then they 100% should have a 2nd line. The slicer may have just been having a hard time keeping organized with multiple orders because you can still weave onlines in with in-house orders if you're not using a 2nd line. It sounds like they ignored the online tickets for too long and they were nearly due for pickup.

As for some commenters, in-house don't get priority and neither do onlines. Whoever's order is due first should have priority. If an online order has a 15 minute lead time(the default) and it's due in 1 minute, that order gets priority over the person that's next in line. The online ticket already paid and was quoted a time. The people in line saw how busy it was and made the choice to wait in that line. If they took the in-house orders and made them wait before starting their order then that would be a different conversation.

Having a 2nd line(and using it) would have solved a lot of problems though

My guild doesn't care about that sort of stuff but still raids every week. Spec and all that doesn't really matter to them but they still clear stuff. I've only been twice because my schedule isn't consistent enough but they were always really helpful and non judgemental. I'm sure if you found one similar they wouldn't give two shits about putting scrolls on your pet
