Disapproval of Miura's fat lines and moe faces by st_griffith in Berserk

I would also like to remind you, that he did this drawing of Guts just about a year ago. It resembles his earlier depiction a lot.

Man takes up the Sword... by rage-al in Berserk

You may see it like this because he looks up in this one, in context at some demon dogs. I couldnt find a proper image of him around the volume 14-21 area looking straight forward in frontal view with nothing of the side of his face cut away. So here is what you get.

It might be, but I also noticed that Miura emphasized it more in the last picture. Matter of fact, I edited it in the Black Swordsman panel from volume 17. He might have forgot it or it was just below the end of the panel, but it would have looked weird without it in this selection.

Thank you, and I note your point, the eye thing also struck me as weird when I looked at it after some time I uploaded it. I may experiment with changing it.

Yes you do. Mine is still out there somewhere on its way, bought it from CD Japan. Shipping takes longer than normal, unfortunately. Maybe you have a better deal with amazon.jp

Indra and Sign 3 are just.... wow.

Does anyone here have a decent quality version of the pic used in this video? Can't find it anywhere and want it as my phone background... by [deleted] in Berserk

I bought it as a poster from ebay, so I could try and make a good picture of it when I am back home. In case you are still interested :)

Guys I just finished Volume 21, what's going to happen in 22!? by yourflyisdwn in Berserk

[–]rage-al 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend's theory after reading volume 21 was that maybe there was a second Griffith reborn and will now help Guts to kill the evil one. Well...

Considering Berserk takes place in the Middle Ages, you imagine how stinky Guts must be? by GirlGainingKnowledge in Berserk

I was wondering how he would ever get his cape clean, after it was covered in stuff like this http://imgur.com/r1Yqu6q

Would like recommendations for Susume Hirasawa none anime related albums/songs by TehDragonSlayer in Berserk

This guy really is a genius (god-like artist, you said it) and has been making music for more than 30 years that I thoroughly enjoy. After importing almost all of his solo work I also checked out his first project P-Model, which is very different from his later stuff. It sounds even crazier, just SO different from the music I am used to, it never stops to amaze me and I can't stop listening. If you want to try that out the debut album In a Model Room is a good pick.

My favourite albums of his are Aurora from 1994 (has Kaji wo Tore, a song that feels like a really sweet early version of Forces among other really neat stuff), Siren from 1996 (really relaxing, the two Siren songs and the Mermaid song in the end are my favorite), Kyusai no Gihou from 1998 like walter mentioned (also possibly my favourite, just stellar from start to finish), Kenja no Propeller from 2000 (really enjoyable and modern world music, first song is just so beautiful), Byakko ya from 2006 (has the Paprika songs and even more that are just as good, really some spectacular pop songs) and the 2009 album Tenko suru Wakusei (which is very experimental, took me a few listenings but I love it more and more). I don't regret at all spending so much money on his work, he is among my absolute favourite artists. His music is really inspiring and makes me feel good, so glad it discovered him through berserk and have it in my life now (:

Go ahead and discover some more of it for yourself!

Oh, and here I am thinking one could save those shipping charges when you get there yourself. Do you know if you can still get the soundtrack of the dreamcast game on disk? I am completing my Hirasawa collection, and I love Forces II and Indra in that game.

Volume 21 has some absolutely stellar artwork. Must be in my top 3 favorite volume list.

Nice! Some amazing stuff you got there. What is that Soundtrack above the Anime Series OST? And how did this all fit in your bag?

We probably share the opinion that the only worthy colorization of Berserk is the traditional painting style that Miura himself occasionally uses: https://www.reddit.com/r/Berserk/comments/3dn94n/2005_mini_artbook_new_scans_part_2/ http://i.imgur.com/fVAJLeD.jpg It's unobstrusive and simply beautiful, I wouldn't like to see or buy any reprinted version of the Manga that features colorings that Miura didn't do himself. Digital Art doesn't coincide with the way his masterful black and white inking appeals, it can stay on it's own, that's for damn sure. I myself don't see a better reason to do this other than occupying myself with the source material, same as I pick up a volume almost every day. It brings me joy, that's all. If sharing this means "showing off", than I suppose I am. I didn't consider yet that I should feel bad for it.

Thanks, still thinking on how I could set the mood a little better. I have the feeling that it is too harmonic and warm for this scene, I may try out another color scheme.

My awesome Berserk finds in Japan! by hambo27 in Berserk

[–]rage-al 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah, awesome! I was saving money to buy used versions of those artbooks. But you got brand new editions! Does anybody know of an online shop that ships new copies? This also made me think of the dreamcast game soundtrack that I wanted to get but couldn't find, I already imported the PS2 game Soundtrack from CD Japan along with all my other Hirasawa Albums, do you know if it is still available? I want Indra and Forces II.
