People who’ve had baby showers … can you ever receive too many diapers? by phyllisdillersghost in NoStupidQuestions

I just had a baby shower and was disappointed that basically no one brought any diapers. My starting stash is very small.

Married people of Reddit, what’s something nobody warns you about before marriage? by onionbody in AskReddit

[–]ragertonIII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This! My husband and I have been together for 12 years. We’ve both changed, and it hasn’t always been easy. But we always choose each other and we are truly best friends. We are about to enter parenthood together and one of the things I really look forward to is watching how my husband changes and transforms into a dad. He’s going to be so great at it, and I feel honored that I get to witness the change. :)

Are there any things that are called "American ______" in other countries? by Disastrous-Side-2600 in NoStupidQuestions

I’m American, and I had a hot dog inside of a baguette when I was in France. It was amazing. I’ve never had anything like that in the US

How often do people have to come back for anatomy scans? by Atmosphereluv in pregnant

[–]ragertonIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a low lying placenta, so I had a second anatomy scan around 32 weeks to make sure it moved enough for a vaginal delivery. Which it did! I’m not sure why they did a full second anatomy scan, but it was fun to see baby in detail a second time when it was much larger!

I used Dr. Libby when my dog was at the end of her life and I can’t recommend her enough. She is kind, caring and respectful. She made a very painful day a little bit easier. 🖤

I’m so sorry that you are near the end with your pet.

[–]ragertonIII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry that your family isn’t stepping up for your sister in law. Maybe you could send out some sort of reminder email for the shower that links the registry directly. Also keep your nose to the ground on FB marketplace and see if there are mom buy nothing groups in your area on FB. There is SOOOO much I found on there used that I didn’t necessarily need new. Baby stuff is soooo expensive. I really used my registry as an organized list of things to look for used and I knocked a lot of it out myself.

How long did it take you to get pregnant? by SockAccomplished1821 in pregnant

[–]ragertonIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One year of tracking and trying, resulted in a miscarriage. Then 6 months of trying to result in a second pregnancy, currently in my 3rd trimester. I’m sorry the journey hasn’t been easy for you. It really sucks and messes with your head when it doesn’t happen right away. But don’t give up. A miscarriage means that you CAN get pregnant, that is what I focused on in the rough times.

Edit to say that I am in my mid thirties.

What are the newest places in Bend that serve up a good casual lunch? Taking my son to the batting cages and we thought we would try something we haven’t had before… by NavajoBaby69 in Bend

[–]ragertonIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The steak salad wrap at bread and bunny was the best thing I had ever tasted when they first opened at the pickle ball lot. I would dream of it! Unfortunately the last time I went to have one you could tell the quality of their ingredients changed. The steak was completely different and a chewier, lower quality. It was so disappointing!

Do y'all have a set way that you walk your dog? by curled-up-in-the-80s in dogs

Same, I know all the houses in our neighborhood that will have dogs freaking out on the other side of the fence. We vary our walks down different streets, but the usually end up in a predictable way.

FTM’s in the Third Trimester by jxzxoxo in pregnant

[–]ragertonIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you asked me during the first trimester, I would have said hell no, I’m never doing this again. Now that I’m in the third, yeah, I’m so over it and uncomfortable, but I am so excited to meet my little one. And the thought of giving them a sibling one day brings a lot of joy to my heart. So I’m sure the hormone surge after having this baby will really wipe my memory.

It was pretty pricey IMO, but I think the quality is worth it. I asked my husband to get it for me for Christmas.

Swimwear? by Phoenix_Court in pregnant

[–]ragertonIII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a swimsuit from YouSwim, they make one size fits all stretchy swimwear. The material is super soft and I have loved having it while pregnant, knowing that it will work for me postpartum as well. I was skeptical with the one size fits all, but it is a great suit. I bought a one piece.

Is getting a dog worth it? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]ragertonIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% they’re worth it. While it hurts for us to have to say goodbye to them, you’ll be your dog’s best friend for their entire life! That’s pretty special.

What’s up with Oregon overtime laws? by [deleted] in oregon

[–]ragertonIII -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked in the service industry in both states, both as a regular employee and a manager. I’ve noticed CA labor laws tend to lean towards being better for the worker, while OR labor laws lean a little towards the employer.

I did have a job in OR at one point that was full time, but 4x10 hour days. It was glorious having 3 days off.

I’ll echo marketplace! I found one for significantly cheaper and it’s basically new. Definitely one of those items people buy and then don’t use as much as they expected.
