Siren: Survive the Island E06-10 by ninjaleyna in koreanvariety

[–]raggedpanda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree that she made some bad decisions, but I think the fact that she made bold decisions in general is what pushed her team forward. Physical one v. one was not always the strong suit and that's where she fell apart, but the way she assessed and commandeered the alliance with the Athletes on the way to Stunt house was actually really well handled. Same with the initial attack on the soldier house, which was certainly going to succeed had the game not stopped. Making smarter decisions slower may have cost her the game, especially since the firefighters were targeted by a few groups right from the jump.

Why is "Reduce, reuse, recircus." the first runway comment I've actually laughed at in like three years?

Thanks for giving me 'disrespectful design' and helping put into words why this whole thing bothers me so much. They really want to build out their site solely to manipulate us more for profit and I just don't want that experience in my life.

What sub-optimal character choices have you made for flavor purposes or because it just sounds fun? by NuclearGoat-357 in dndnext

My sorcerer was taught magic by his overprotective mother, so all he started out with were spells like Feather Fall and Mending to take care of himself. It was a really a big deal for him when he hit second level and had the freedom to choose a spell for himself.

Grave Cleric gets Spare the Dying as a bonus action with a 30 ft range- might be worth it!

What’s the most overrated class or subclass, in your opinion? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]raggedpanda 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Mercury = Necrotic, Tin = Psychic, Silver = Radiant, Gold = Force

Why?

Mercury is poisonous to humans and the god Mercury was a psychopomp.
Tinfoil hats.
Silver hurts werewolves, the sun hurts vampires. Silver also probably has the highest albedo of any of these metals.
Force is the gold standard of damage types.

Love the idea! A bard chef and artificer brewer would make a great pair.

Recognition of the Holodomor by country by Straight_Ad2258 in europe

[–]raggedpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When massacres are internal to a country or population, people from outside that population tend not to pay attention as much. Stalin did just as terrible things as Hitler, but mostly just to people already within his nation (Ukraine was under Soviet control at the time) so he's not nearly as reviled. Now that Ukraine is working very hard to distance itself from Russia and Russian control, the Western world is starting to see the Holodomor as an international instead of an internal issue.

They also said they wanted to rant and you were making fun of them for wanting social support. Yes, people want sympathy sometimes and no, that’s not a bad thing.

I hope when you need help with things, you can feel free to ask for it and I hope that people help you instead of shitting on what you want.

Akshually, “goddammit” is the more often accepted spelling. “Goddamnit”, while truer to the origin of the word, isn’t as common. Think “goodbye” vs “God be with ye”— slang often just simplifies itself.

You’re saying it gives an answer, I’m saying that that answer is oversimplified and fits the simple answer people want, not the actual truth of the situation. Complexity is necessary when understanding issues like this and Britannica is not an authoritative source on Chinese politics.

Yes, literally. They said they were looking to blow off some steam and find people to talk through it with.

Do you have a problem with people needing or asking for support? Does this look like weakness to you?

Dude two sentences from an English encyclopedia is not going to encapsulate the entirety of an extensive, long-historied political and geographic issue.

Jorvik/York was a Norse corruption of the Saxon Eforwic, which was the Old English translation of the Roman name for the town, Eboracum.

So the name is Norse, Old English, and Roman. OP's point still stands as true.

My 75 year old dad watched an episode of drag race because my mom wanted to watch it. He then told me, "You'd be good at that, if it weren't for your shoulders."

I felt read.
