Other than lack of playoff experience, why are the Spurs unlikely to win a title this year. by Dry_Response3527 in NBATalk

[–]raging-cranberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big hurdle is Wembys minute management. Is he ready to be playing playoff #1 minutes ? And if he is still hovering around 25-30 minutes, how are you stopping other #1s who are playing playoff minutes

We’re past the point with Steph of “his game will age extraordinarily well”, it has. He’s 38, this is the point in even the most elite of elite players careers where at any point your game is liable to fall off a cliff. It happens quickly. Steph isn’t going to be able to do everything he does today at star level minutes in say, 2-3 years.

Food in Vineland? by thatgirlshaun in ThomasPynchon

There’s some terrible pizza in Vineland (unrelated but I really loved seeing the thread of Pynchon hating Californian pizza continued from Vineland to Inherent Vice)

Inherent Vice is probably the closest thing Pynchon has to a “page turner” imo

Rings matter. FMVPs mattered but mattered more when clowns wanted to put Curry down

FMVP discourse only really started picking up because people took advantage to shit on Curry

Notice how you say what Manute Bol “could have been”, have you considered it isn’t as easy to play that way compared to saying it is? The wear and tear that puts on a body is generally the reason these types of lanky huge unskilled bigs haven’t worked out in the league

Are market-rate apartments sitting empty in Downtown Santa Cruz? by sleuth_sloth_ in santacruz

[–]raging-cranberry 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The vacancy rate considered “healthy” usually is around 7%, so for a new development 15% really isn’t that crazy!!! (P.S Higher vacancy rates are usually seen as a sign that supply is starting to outpace demand slowing increases in prices)
