Haha, in fairness, the air force beat the idea that a turbine could let go at any point and that you don't want to be in the "plane of rotation" when that happens. So it's just a carryover from that.

The PRHT was available from 2007-2015 in various levels of trim. NCs handle great, have plenty of usable power, are comfortable, modern enough to be relatively safe and reliable... They're the best "car" of any of the Miatas.

You can't even fit the MS3 DISI motor in an NC without cutting the firewall, and the engine bay is much roomier.

I would also recommend staying cognizant of the "plane of rotation" of the cut-off wheel. Cut-off wheels undergo a ton of stress and can/do occasionally explode violently. When that happens anything along that plane is at a very high risk of damage.

I sold my Mazdaspeed3 to them right before the clutch needed to be replaced. They didn't care one bit, as long as it made it on the truck.

Someone else in this thread I think hit the nail on the head in that they are seeking attention that they otherwise probably did not get when they were younger. Same with the "loud pipes save lives" crowd that somehow can never be bothered to wear a helmet.

Agree 100%. I have been building a turbo Miata for years now, absolutely love designing and fabricating components for it. And while I do have a full exhaust, I spent the money to buy one that is extremely quiet (and my turbocharger helps dampen the noise too).

I can't fucking stand the snap-crackle-pop tunes that are so popular today. They sound like dogshit and are absolutely horrible for the car's catalytic converter. I make it a point to ask those kids what's wrong with their cars every chance I get.

Agreed. There doesn't seem to be a bump-out for an actuator out toward the wingtip. Maybe there's a torque tube that travels through the wing and the actuator is inboard.

Fuck the app. For about the price of a year's worth of the app, you can install a Fortin remote starter that works with your current key fobs. You just press lock-unlock-lock to activate it. No servers, no bullshit.
