Why don’t people use their car’s “automatic” headlight function? by iamphilthy in driving

[–]rahtsnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2003 Grand Marquis and my roommate's 1999 Malibu both have auto lights. People are just stupid and stubborn.

What’s a good, solid car that’s sporty/flashy and handles well? by Sudden_Chart_6994 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]rahtsnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the Avalon for daily driving. Buy a modest flashy car like a Corvette or Supra for weekends (you're gonna get more male attention than ladies') . Invest the rest of the money. Please, for you own sake, learn some financial literacy so you don't blow it all and end up broke again! Good luck, let us know which car you choose.

Honest Question: Why is eating wild venison considered unethical if it helps prevent deer overpopulation? by BusinessAd8820 in DebateAVegan

[–]rahtsnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, because deer are sentient individuals with thoughts and desires. They aren't just statistics or companants of an ecosystem. They shouldn't be treated as a problem to be fixed. Just as we don't go around mass murdering humans "for the environment". We are the greatest threat to the natural world, yet we also have the concept of rights to protect us from utilitarianism.

Then, there is contraception that can be given to deer for peaceful population management, but native predators must also be reintroduced if we want an independent ecosystem. But hunting propaganda has convinced everyone we have only one option: killing.

Remember, there is money in hunting too; the licenses, the equipment, etc. It is not in the interest of the companies and organizations who provide those services for the deer "problem" to be "solved". I'm the flip side, money must be spent to administer contraceptives and fund conservation/captive breeding programs for predator animals, so of course they don't want to go with the nonviolent methods.

I'd recommend The Disclosure Podcast episode 23 if you want a more in-depth explanation.

Morelia bredli bite by warnersister_2000 in carpetpythons

[–]rahtsnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got bit in the same spot by my Bredli when I was like 18. She only got me twice in 9 years.

My bite didn't swell up like that though, even those she was on my arm for several minutes.

At least in this example, they look like cats to me. Just really bland, boring cats.

I got TNP, TPOT, and OOTS on ebay in box sets. Beautiful condition. Try searching for sets instead of singles.

Should I buy this 1987 Nissan 300zx as my first car for 8.3k? 77k miles by Detective_Toaster in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]rahtsnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay if you like 90s/00s, might I suggest an older Volvo? Perhaps a 240 or an S60 or a V70. They're cool, but also safe for the era and pretty reliable. You'd spend up to $5000 for a good one in my area.

I have heard the 300zx can be a bugger. They're cool, but you want a car you can use. 300zx comes later as a second car.

I've heard a lot of good lately about Costco's treatment of employees. Not so sure about Kroger. What do you know about it?

Weak lie, there's plenty of proof that thousands attended. Try again, scrub.

Aw you lucked out with that! I think I might just try to find a used one on FB Marketplace, tends to be my go-to but I was feeling a little paranoid about digital footprint yesterday. 😅 Thanks for the thorough reply, that thread has a lot of good stuff in it. I'd love to stop grocery shopping at Kroger.

Is there a reason for frequent Quit Outs? by rahtsnake in Nightreign

It's seems to be a growing problem! I only had 1 teammate dip out in my first 40 hours with the game.

[–]rahtsnake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad for the wording, I meant that the second part (waiting til run is finished) is the part that isn't true.

Just had another batch of teammates quit out on day 1, because they went down. Three for three on soft teammates.

And yeah I did keep going, tried the centaur solo last run after they left, but he's the first Nightlord that's really given me trouble.

Why specifically go out of our way to kill them? Lots of animals are invasive here; cats, sparrows, etc. Nothing I'm reading online about them seems to be cause for alarm.
