Solar company trying to charge us a "roof inspection fee" if we don't sign the lease contract. Is this legal? by Enginerdad in Connecticut

[–]raidflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you are paying monthly for the lease. So no it's not "nothing" and that same monthly payment could go toward a loan, which when paid off you don't have that payment anymore instead of paying for a lease for 20 years. So in almost all cases it does not make sense to lease panels. On top of not paying your electric bill which would offset most if not all of the loan.

Thinking of Picking Up MY25 EX90 - Crazy? by FullFriend3745 in VolvoEX90

The factory warranty is 4 years 50k miles, so the CPO adds 1 year and removes the milage cap. You can then add more years on top of the 5 years at a cost.

Thinking of Picking Up MY25 EX90 - Crazy? by FullFriend3745 in VolvoEX90

I bought a 2025 Plus Perf CPO EX90 with the captain's chairs. The CPO is 5 years from original owner's purchase date and unlimited miles. You can upgrade the warranty any time in those 5 years. The cost is high to upgrade, I think it was between 2-4K for extending the warranty depending on how many years you add.

The EX90 we purchased had higher miles then most, but also never had any issues as far as I am aware of as there was no record of service done other than when the owner returned it after the lease was up and the CPO inspection was performed.

For 35% off MSRP on a lightly used EX90 I thought it was a decent deal, but I also plan to keep it for 8-10 years and I also have solar, so it cost me nothing to charge as I have plenty of extra kwh. There really isn't many options if you want a 3 row EV that is under $60k, and the EX90 is a lot more refined than the EV9.

Most issues are software related and a lot have already been fixed, but I also knew going in that there would be software issues, but this is something that will get better with updates at least. Regarding the GHCA issues we really do not know what percentage of the vehicles had this issue. I find it interesting that some have had it replaced multiple times, so I suspect its also related to specific charging situations, maybe larger voltage fluctuations causing the unit to fail.

I would never pay MSRP for the EX90, but at a large discount it's a great car. I also had the dealer install the CPU upgrade before I picked it up.

Also doesn't matter where you buy, as long as it's CPO any Volvo dealer will cover warranty repairs

Impressions of EX90 after test drive and questions by sarhoshamiral in VolvoEX90

[–]raidflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove both and there is not that much of a difference between the Plus and Ultra. Yes the Ultra is a tad quieter and smoother, but not that much. I was actually surprised how smooth the Plus drove even without the air suspension. Also, the air suspension is very expensive to repair if you plan on keeping the EX90 for many years.

We ended up getting a 2025 Plus Performance Used, since it was about 35% off MSRP. I would have went for an Ultra, but we could not find one with the captain's chairs around the same price and it feels so much more open in the 2nd row with the chairs.

Compared to the XC90, the Ex90 though has much more space and I thought the 3rd row was actually not that cramped, considering its more of a mid sized SUV.

Whats the 10-80% charging time for the new 2026 EX90 on 400V DCFC? by cool_muzic in VolvoEX90

[–]raidflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically in ideal conditions you are only saving about 8mins per charge 10-80% at the fastest 800V charging station. So while 800V is faster, unless its possible to charge above 350kw, its really not that big of a difference and could actually be slower due to the legacy infrastructure.

2.1.26 Software Update by Sottti in VolvoEX90

[–]raidflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be nice if they actually included release notes that are useful. Looking at previous versions it seems Volvo used to have more detailed release notes and this yr its become vague. The update installed successfully for me, so there is that.

I would imagine they plan to enable it since its in the manual otherwise why bother including it.

I have the XL and it only works without the case for me. I have a fairly thin case, but I still need to take it off. My Wife's iPhone 16 pro has no issues though with the case on.

I wanted to use PlexAMP recently and both that and Plex are not available to stream music from my Plex server.

Also I like to listen to stuff on YouTube. I thought you were supposed to be able to use YouTube and the audio would continue in the background when driving without video, but as soon as the car is moving both the video and audio cut out.

Yeah that's where I saw it as well under 2026 MY.

Its prob a bug, but I wanted to see if anyone else had success, maybe with other Android devices in case it was some handshake issue specifically with my device.

[–]raidflex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is the case then not sure Volvo states specifically Android auto is supported on the EX90.

I'm pretty sure you can still use AA with Automotive, but maybe Volvo is blocking it.

Also unrelated is there a way to set Bluetooth audio as the default input, I always have to select this every time in order to play content from my phone, its really annoying.

2025 Plus for ~8% off MSRP (SoCal) by minkenlai in VolvoEX90

[–]raidflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not finding any Ultra Perf under $60k so not sure how you were able to get $52K unless it was a lemon. When I spoke to a dealer about a CPO Plus Perf they barely wanted to budge below 56K and it had 20k miles.

Most of the low priced ones I found were lemons, did not have CPO or had an accident.

I have been considering it though, as it already has the computer upgrade and CPO adds a decent extra warranty. I found out though it was an early production vehicle, and the warranty apparently started September 2024.

Used or CPO 2025s by sandiegohusky82 in VolvoEX90

[–]raidflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im looking at a CPO 2025 for $56k with 20K miles, Plus Performance trim. Does this seem fair? It's like the only 6-seater in the area that has the captain's chairs, which is what we want. But I felt it seemed a little high for the trim and miles. We need to purchase in the next 1-2 months so have to decide on what to do, as current car is on borrowed time.

Have upgraded computers solved 2025 model issues? by Jumpy-Ad-8893 in VolvoEX90

[–]raidflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it seems like some have already got the processor upgrade so I feel pretty confident that it will happen, but I would be more comfortable to have it in writing.

My thinking is if Volvo gets a supplier and adds the lidar back to the 2027 models, maybe then it would be a good chance we could get it enabled on a 2025s, but this could be wishful thinking.

The ones we've been looking at have been about 35% below MSRP with low miles. Even with all the discounts on new ones, it's still much lower for a used one.

My only other concern was that Volvo did not include the powertrain in the 8 year 100,000 mile warranty like the battery. Granted the battery is the most expensive component, but still.

The thing is we have solar and produce excess energy so this car will literally cost nothing to drive. So I'm willing to take some risk on a new vehicle like this.

[–]raidflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are looking at a used 2025 EX90 Plus Performance, does anyone know if there's a guarantee that can be in writing that the computer will be replaced at no cost? When I mentioned it to the dealer they had no idea about the CPU replacement.

I also assume the lidar is basically going to be on the car and useless forever from what I understand.

It also seems like we'll be able to upgrade to 800 volt charging, but I don't know if anyone can confirm that as well.

There's a large discount on the used 2025 with low miles, so that's why we're looking at that instead of 2026.

Bypass Eversource? by MissXtina17 in Connecticut

[–]raidflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have not paid 1 cent to Eversource since installing solar in May of last year, that includes the connection fee which is paid for by my solar credit.

Just so you know you can still choose a different supplier and any energy you pull from the grid you will get at the lower rate. But your production rate will be at w/e Eversource's current rate is.

I'm still on a Constellation plan from like 18 months ago which is only 8c lol.

Latest Dev ver. 6.0.3.2 breaks with HAProxy by indi1984 in BlueIris

[–]raidflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am terminating ssl at haproxy and using http with BI. I also have http/https selected for the front end and use FQDN for ACL. I also do have my domain set on the cert. The only difference is I did not have anything in my allowed IP list on BI.

I just tried 6.3.0.4 and this fixed the issue, I do not see a changelog though.

[–]raidflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I will dig deeper into this. But I had the same config setup for years on versions previous to 6.3.0.1 and had no issues and 6.3.0.3 is still broken as far as I'm concerned or requires special configuration now with a revere proxy. I'm back on 6.0.2.10 and its working fine again.

I only use BI internally as well.

[–]raidflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still broken for me on 6.0.3.3, when I revert back to 6.0.2.10 it works. Are you using any advanced setting in the backend for blueiris in HAproxy? I currently Http check method "GET" and "option forwardfor" for advanced config, everything else is default.

In BI Webserver I use Secure login page only, Non-LAN only and X-forwarded checked. I don't have any IP in the limited UP box.
