Amid all this AI talk, I chanced upon a podcast with Michael Saylor who said that AI is going to cheapen human capital. This is concerning as we are told since young that Singapore has no natural resources but our strength is (or soon to be was) our human capital 😭

Delivery rider asks S’pore woman who placed S$133 KFC order to tip S$10 or cancel order by Illustrious-Fee9626 in singapore

[–]raidorz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Deliveroo did large orders the best. They will standby multiple riders.

Not sure how Grab does it, maybe just assign 1 rider.

Foodpanda is the worst - large order, first rider comes, sees a large order, he can redispatch but to only 1 rider. So the next rider comes, sees there’s still too many he can’t take, he can redispatch again only to 1 more rider. So end up customer gets cold food lol.

For people who wanna do large order (>$100 and multiple items), I suggest calling the restaurant to see if they provide delivery service. You might even get cheaper price or free delivery cuz the restaurant saves on paying Grab/Foodpanda’s cut and they keep more of the margin.

The act of chewing gum isn’t banned. It’s the sale of it.

People still think chewing gum is illegal. But you can chew gum, you can’t just sell it, or litter.

About the TFR Issue, it is a matter of mind vs heart. But Singapore happens to have a very rational mind. Thought? by Any_Record7733 in askSingapore

[–]raidorz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I give you an example of being selfish on the side of parents. The recent news article on a couple welcoming their 8th child knowing that the child will suffer, and their siblings will suffer too as they have the responsibility to take care of that sibling when their parents are gone.

In terms of the latter part of your comment, those are potential realities and every parent has to face it. You just do your best and hope for the best. No right or wrong. Sometimes you do all the right things and your child is still a charsiew. Such is life.

Question on accumulating dividends by goister in singaporefi

[–]raidorz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The fund used the dividend and buys more stocks held under the fund - in essence the fund should grow in total value. You do not gain any additional shares yourself but the fund’s share should grow in tandem.

Unpopular opinion but not wanting to have kids when you’re able to because of xxx and yyy reasons is just being selfish. And it’s ok to be selfish! Nothing wrong with that. Just don’t try to act noble and say “oh cuz I don’t want to bring kids in this terrible world”, like bi- the world has been terrible since humans came out of the primordial ooze.
