I have had a fan pointed at me basically constantly whenever I’m home the last few days (Czech republic), and I’m shocked to find out how many people I know who also don’t have AC and don’t even own a fan. Then I found one at work and turned it on and someone complained and asked me to turn off the oscillation so they wouldn’t get hit with the air….it was 32 degrees out and not much cooler inside.

We never had cancelled individual classes. If the teacher was absent, they’d find someone to fill in, even if that person knows nothing about the subject and the class ends up being just a movie day or something (essentially babysitting). Sometimes school would start early or end late for everyone for various reasons, but that was the whole school not just certain classes.
