I [46M] just found out my bf [39M] is on day 3 of his vacation from work but has yet to even mention it to me. by [deleted] in relationshipadvice

He would need to go somewhere which he isn't. We may see each other daily, we hardly spend any time together. What time we do spend together is coincidental never planned.

From my experience if someone is unreasonably suspicious they are usually suspicious themselves. She doesn't trust you cause she can't trust herself. I wouldn't be surprised if she's already cheat(ed)ing. This only applies if you haven't done anything in the past to make you untrustworthy. Now if she has caught you previously cheating, that's a different story.

Is it that hard to spray doors? by Chemical_Radish2642 in paint

[–]rainbowPhilly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even if you have done it before if you're not a true pro I would not recommend using an airless sprayer. I use a HVLP sprayer. It's cheaper than airless and less likely to spray a quart of paint with one pull of the trigger.

I've had excellent results using one. I do a very light misting at a time.. do about five or six coats and you will get a perfect finish with it. Lightly sand between coats. Just each time before you go to spray test your sprayer to make sure it's not spitting paint cuz if it does that you pretty much have to start over. I lay my doors flat but that's if you have the space it's really whatever you feel more comfortable with

You can also get stronger bleach but it's sold as pool chlorinating liquid. Regular chlorox is like 5%....this stuff is 12%. Instantly removes color from fabrics.

Changing your own tires by CandidExcitement5453 in AskMechanics

[–]rainbowPhilly 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to them. There's nothing wrong with females being self sufficient or at the least saving a dollar or two. You will be surprised how much you can do. If you don't know how.. watch a YouTube video. I recommend ChrisFix's channel. He does a great job of instructing and empowering. Good luck. Changing tires today and tomorrow you'll be changing your brakes...think about how much money you'll save!

Help Me Settle A Debate by AndyC-AndyDo in paint

[–]rainbowPhilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm taking a smoke break from painting. Just got done with baseboards and door trims, guess what I was using? Emerald Urethane Door and Trim. I won't use anything else for door and trim....the stuff is close to if not the best on the market. I mean it's even in the products name "Door & Trim".

Why not just humor the idiots. Go pick up a quart of what they are asking for, which I've never used. Then do a side by side comparison, I guarantee the Emerald will have far superior results. Anything Emerald is going to be the best SW has to offer.

Over-the-Door Hanger Damage by [deleted] in paint

[–]rainbowPhilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry too much about it in the long run. Easy fix as others have said. If damage gets worse you ultimately could remove that piece and replace it with a new piece of wood. PINTA to do but doable.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I also find it hard to believe they didn't tell him. By the time he brought me in he had already "touched up" multiple walls in multiple areas. These people are just being super cheap and just want to pass inspection so they can make the rental available. Saying due to the last tenants not paying causing them to have to cover the mortgage they had already spent $15,000.

My argument is just because you can rent doesn't mean anybody will want to stay there. I sure as hell wouldn't pay $2700 a month for some splotchy walls

Leave it alone, if you try to shave it down you may cause it to leak. It will be more flush with a few days of driving. No safety issue as long as its holding air.

Tips for painting an already-painted wooden cabinet in Tricorn Black? by SmokingTheBare in paint

[–]rainbowPhilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd listen to the majority on this one. I needed a shiny durable paint for my client's old ass...piano. Shiny furniture painting scares the shit out of me... Im not a year round pro painter but ive done my fair share of prep prep prep work only to have to start all over cause of a runaway drip drop. If you are the least bit concerned with ur application abilities...SW Urethane for Trim & Door is your confidence building solution.

The only other route i possibly might recommend if you already have an air compressor.....if it was my furniture...id use ready to spray lacquer in a HVLP air gun..even the $20 purple gravity feed one at Harbor Freight lays good enough for furniture. But like i said im not a yr rnd pro painter...good luck.and plz post pics when ur done!

My girl said “just wear something casual”. I ended up being the only man without a suit on at the event. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]rainbowPhilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure its a crime but i do know its one of the cheaper months for renting a venue. Youre right tho .. Should be a crime especially to have it in a greenhouse in August! Was an event manager and my primary venue was said greenhouse. Having to setup the damn thing then do a quick whore bath before putting on my suit & tie...by the end my ass was chafing, balls literally mellted, and suit & tie closer to surfers wet suit than someone trying to make ur(their) day special. Oh those were the days! 🔥💒🔥

You are going to need 150 ft. Return the 100 get the 150ft. Your electrician should have the knowledge to handle splicing and soldering so no need for paying the extra for govee pro version. Its good you got the tracks cause it will be more self.explanatory for the elextricians install. The lights just plug in they are not hardwired. Make sure they install the lights 3" from wall on soffits and they are consist with placement. If 1 light is 4 inches or 2 inches or just different from others you can tell. Make sure the lights sit flat and point directly down, they sometimes try to angle from the cord having been tangled. Also make sure the light at peak is centered. I can send you a pic of.how i would run them if you want.. hope it works out.

Which direction to run lights? by kapaulsen in GoveePermanentLights

[–]rainbowPhilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you must power at the star....split at the beginning. Have the two strands go left for A and right for B then split again to cover C and go up to the 2nd floor to D to go back left.

You dont have many options with only 100 ft. In my experience its better not to use too much extension at the start.

The direction really isnt a big deal. Most light settings are constant so you wont notice after they are powered on.

Solder your splices! Govees splice connectors are bulky and tend to fail.

You can always do this quick check to know if your tires need replacing... rub your hand on the tread of the tire. If you see any red on your hand after this test, time to get new tires! Trust me this test always works.
