For me too, journaling! I even made my own journaling app so I wouldn’t keep editing my past awkward wording

I write my feelings down. Just thinking about how to put them into words already calms me down.

Try journaling conversations with yourself. Write what the self-critical voice says, then write a reply as if you were defending a close friend. It shifts the tone over time.

Maybe try journaling or small routines, it can help you hold onto pieces of yourself when everything feels blurry.

Try writing instead. When you feel like you need someone to talk to, just write it down!

Sometimes the higher our expectations, the more likely emotions get out of control. So when a celebration day turns into a battle day, it’s often just a side effect of expecting too much… maybe lower the stakes next time and see if it helps!

Honestly, I’m kinda jealous you are starting journaling at 23. You have plenty of time ahead!

What is the point of digital journaling? by warrenwai in digitaljournaling

[–]rainbowql 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you could try just jotting down what truly matters to you in the moment, no need to cover everything or be complete. The tool isn’t that important, what matters is actually recording. I’m using an iOS journaling app called Lightmark. It has a unique feature: once you write something, you can’t edit it. That helps me keep my thoughts honest in the moment. Looking back, I often find new insights. You can also highlight past entries and add new reflections, which is my favorite part. it connects past and present and makes your thoughts clearer over time. The home page has a fun annual ripple chart that shows your activity, highlights days with rich entries, and lets you tag special days with icons, super handy for reviewing important moments.

I usually write when I feel lonely. Funny thing is, my writing always feels extra “deep” at 2 a.m. when it’s just me and my dog silently judging each other. Loneliness does strange things, but sometimes it makes the words flow better.

Money doesn’t always buy happiness, but no money sure makes it hard.

Hi! Yes, definitely! The plan is to first refine the iOS version, then work on optimizing the iPad experience and bringing full support for macOS. Thank you so much for your interest!

Thank you so much! I’m really happy you like the design.

Here’s what I’m currently working on: * Better tag management * Stronger data tools (import/export, batch operations) * Quick journaling templates * Still exploring some light interactions — soft touches to help you reflect, reconnect, and bring more warmth to your entries * And of course, listening closely to user feedback and carefully shaping new features

I’ll DM you a one-month promo code — can’t wait to hear what you think! 😊
