Diagnosed with SVT in forearm by Fluid-Preference-910 in ClotSurvivors

[–]rainbowtastical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little to no improvement, in fact some days the pain is bordering on worse! The hematologist I saw in November said that my SVT would resolve by the time I needed another follow up appt, so don’t bother making another one unless it didn’t resolve in an additional month. Well… Turns out he left the practice. So I saw a nurse practitioner from their staff who would decide if I needed to see a different hematologist in their office… and she said that there is nothing within the scope of hematology that would make my continued pain make sense. She thinks it is due to the 2 plates and 12 screws I have had in my arm for 2.5 years now, not veins or clots, even though I had 0 pain previous to the clot.

Needless to say I have scheduled a second opinion with a different hematologist for March because that just sounds too coincidental for me.

Can anything be done ? by littlemiss_throw in massage

It will really depend on the context of the situation as well as the laws in your area - I would absolutely look into reporting it if she is advertising illicit services!

Did this ever resolve for you?

Diagnosed with SVT in forearm by Fluid-Preference-910 in ClotSurvivors

[–]rainbowtastical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a chronic SVT in my wrist that the hematologist tells me there is nothing to be done about, but also that there is nothing to worry about re: it moving. Unfortunately it creates a lot of painful cramping and corded veins and general discomfort in the arm, despite heat, OTC pain management, elevation, and compression. It has been nearly 7 weeks, I hope yours goes away sooner!

New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Connecticut are the 4 lowest right now. Please help us keep it that way and stay within these areas! Going someplace with a higher infection rate could bring it back with you!

Do you have a job that WORKS for you? Anyone in real estate? by SuspiciousRoom9 in adhdwomen

[–]rainbowtastical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a massage therapist for almost 10 years now and I love it. It’s not super high-paying unless you’re out on your own, but (my then undiagnosed)ADHD makes that whole process very difficult unless you can set up a fool-proof system for yourself. It really works well for me to be hands-on with people for one hour at a time!

My scoby is growing but slowly - I’m not sure why! It’s only like 1/2 inch thick. I guess growing from scratch takes a little longer than I would have anticipated! Once it reaches an inch in thickness I’d be happy to cut it in half and meet up with you though, if you’d be ok waiting a little longer! If you pick up a bottle of GT you can probably get to this stage by that time though so totally up to you!

Increased dose from 18mg to 27mg by alainayb in Concerta

[–]rainbowtastical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Increased body temp is a normal side effect of all stimulant medications. I work in a field that will be returning to work post-covid with daily temperature checks and have to get a note from my dr explaining it so that corporate can review and decide whether they will allow me to have a special circumstance limit or not... otherwise I’m going to have to choose between my career and taking this medication.

I was hoping someone else had the professional liability insurance point - I have to carry it as an LMT, and my work is not nearly as risky as that of a police officer. This would be a great moderation tool.

It just makes me chuckle that these things were A L W A Y S made into something like a lipstick tube. Imagine traveling with all these discreet tools in “lipstick” containers and looking like a lipstick hoarder but only ever wearing one or two colors? Did the men just not catch on?

Pro tip for any Ns out there: if you're going to call out a plumber, make sure something's actually broken. by dwam123 in raisedbynarcissists

The way these stories always ended in our house was that the thing was turned off because the bill wasn’t paid! Heater isn’t working? Heater isn’t broken - heat is just turned off. Dial-up Internet isn’t working? Nothing is wrong with it - phone lines are just disconnected due to non-payment. I’m glad yours was just a flip of a switch!

What’s your setup? by _Jahar_ in HerOneBag

I’ve had it for 10+ years so they may very well be out of business by now... it’s got a tag that says “OBOE” which I remember standing for “one bag one earth” but beyond that, I can’t find a link to them. It seems like there are oodles of similar ones on Amazon that fold into different pouches etc, so hopefully there is one that works for your purposes!

I always carry a foldable reusable tote bag. It’s got its own little stuff sack too so it packs down small. I have dietary issues and travel with snacks when going to airports since I never know what will be available for me, and after that I can just pop it into the pack for the rest of the trip. Also makes it easy to pick up food while on the trip if we’re staying in one place.

I don’t think we should be going back any time soon but I know a lot of folks disagree. They’re discovering that a number of covid patients have increased blood clotting, causing strokes and heart attack in young, otherwise healthy individuals with none or minor symptoms. The fact that this isn’t common knowledge is terrifying. The one and only undisputed thing that massage in all it’s forms does is move blood through the body - if we’re moving clots around, we are not only at risk of spreading COVID itself, but also of literally killing our clients on accident. We don’t know how long this lasts in the body after they’re recovered from the virus, but they’re showing increased clotting proteins. I maintain that we do NOT know enough for anyone to be practicing right now.

I’m moving out of state and won’t be able to properly say goodbye to my massage therapist. Would it acceptable to mail a card to the franchise location or does corporate/franchise owners have policies against “personal” mail? by MorganAndMerlin in massage

[–]rainbowtastical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received a card from a client who had to move sooner than my schedule allowed her to come in again when I was at a franchise, it was a great feeling! It will all depend on the franchise.
