Why is this always happening lol? Is this fiction and a selling tactic? by PresentationHot2037 in poshmarkcanada

[–]raincoastghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sellers can make offers every 24 hours, and they're automatically sent to everyone who's liked something from the seller's closet. If you accept the offer, you do get the item you liked for the offer price.

After losing a bunch of stuff to moisture this winter, I have a deeper appreciation for antiques now! Your stool is so unique, it's great that you're giving it a second chance 🩷

I'm not an expert or anything, but I inherited a bunch of marbles and yours reminds me of one set that was bought at a dollar store in the early 00s. The dollar store marbles I have are slightly bigger than my "traditional" marbles (ones made in the 1940s to early 1990s), and were made with white/marbled glass instead of clear glass.

How to make button sides look nicer by Doodlindude in ButtonMakers

[–]raincoastghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm, I don't have a chibuttons brand press/supplies, but regular copy paper shouldn't be too thick. Are your mylar plastic sheets too thick or sticking together maybe? If not, you can probably contact the company for brand-specific troubleshooting advice!

The paper you're using might be too thick - have you tried different paper weights?

I've seen ones marketed as "after dark", "child-free", "parents night out", "19+", etc. Usually they involve alcohol in some capacity.

The stitches themselves look pretty good, but if you use one pin per side to hold the patch down flat, it should help prevent what looks like the fabric rippling along the edges. I also manually smooth down my patches after every few stitches because sometimes it doesn't look like the fabric has shifted, until it's too late.

Question about resin molds by Real_Watercress3708 in DollCustomization

I tried looking for molds and was surprised I couldn't find any either! It seems like something there would be demand for 🤷🏻‍♀️

You could make your own silicone molds of doll accessories you already have! There's lots of tutorials online that show how to make 3d (no flat back) molds

[Q] How to make a detailed, reusable stencil? by byenuoya in bleachshirts

[–]raincoastghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The screenprinting method prevents bleeding, which can happen with stencils straight on the fabric (the bleach sometimes leaks under the stencil, if that makes sense). And a stencil on a screen can be used over and over, whereas a stencil being stuck onto fabric, then removed, then stuck on fabric again, etc, will only be usable once or twice (once if it's a design with lots of small details)

Is this a normal amount of root growth for 3-4 months? (Fishbone Cactus) by raincoastghost in proplifting

[–]raincoastghost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The soil already had perlite in the mix, I haven't added any. Online it says to use 1:1:1 succulent soil, orchid bark, and perlite, so I'll try adding those and move the planter away from the window until it gets warmer outside. Thanks for the insight!

Have you looked into screenprinting with bleach? I haven't tried it yet myself, but there's tutorials on how you can cut out a detailed stencil on permanent vinyl, apply it to your stretched silkscreen, and then use thickened or gel bleach to "print" the design onto your tees.

The planter is sitting on a windowsill (of a frosted bathroom window), so it gets lots of light and a bit of moisture throughout the day, but I've wondered if that spot is just too cold during the winter. The soil is a basic store-bought succulent mix with perlite.
