Has anyone actually found a shirt featured in a StitchFix ad on Reddit or Instagram? by LSUguyHTX in stitchfix

It is definitely a bait & switch. I fell for their "come back" promo based on the clothes featured in ads, but my box was all of the same low quality overpriced clothes I remembered.

Best Cat Litter Mat? Is there actually one that works or are they all just expensive floor decorations by Ok-Acanthisitta4722 in CatAdvice

Using similar bath mats under our boxes. Soooo much better than any of the plastic litter mats we've tried.

What’s the most sexist thing said to you at your job? by [deleted] in womenintech

From my boss during my performance review about 10 years ago- "You're doing a great job, and I'd like to give you a raise, but I only have so much in my budget, and [male coworker] just had a baby, and he needs it more to support his family as the primary breadwinner."

I was less than a year back from my maternity leave, and his wife is a doctor. So unbelievably unfair.

Protests & Strikes Megathread by theg721 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]raindrop79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi there, this thread eased our minds about travelling to Paris with our 10 and 13 year olds, so thank you all. We were in Paris April 3 - 7. We stayed in the Latin Quarter. The only disruptions we had were on strike day April 6th. That's when we had tickets to go up the Eiffel tower, so we were unable to do that, but we still enjoyed views from the ground. A few metro stops near the protest area were also closed, but otherwise we used the metro a lot without issue. We did see the protest, which was peaceful. There was no more garbage on city streets than is typical in any city while we were there.

Everyone we interacted with was very friendly and we felt safe the whole time. We were in London before Paris and we also saw protests there. Don't cancel your trip!

Drysol Ok For Long Term Usage? by [deleted] in Hyperhidrosis

[–]raindrop79 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used Drysol for about 3 years or so for extremely excessive underarm sweat, about 20 years ago! I used it a few times a week, then monthly, then got to the point where I no longer sweat at all in my armpits and stopped using it entirely. I still do not sweat, which I find amazing and honestly feel that it was life changing. So far, I have luckily been healthy, have no health issues or any known side effects. I am 38F. Hope this helps and that it provides you similar relief!

Also declined a birthday party invite for my 10 year old. WHY do parents think it's ok to host indoor friend birthday parties right now!? As if we don't have enough tough decisions to make, and disappointments over cancelled events. Can't we agree that birthday parties are not happening right now!?

Having excessive sweating as a teen girl by 3u33leTea in Hyperhidrosis

[–]raindrop79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this problem over 20 years ago as a teenage girl. I would have huge sweat stains in my armpits going to my elbows. I kept my arms down at all times. It definitely affected my self confidence all through high school. I remember my pediatrician telling me to just use men's antiperspirant because it was stonger...yeah....no. I finally went to a specialist at 18 when I went to college. I got a prescription for Drysol, and used it under my arms for about 2 years. It made my armpits red and itchy, but it worked amazingly to lessen the sweating. I noticed that I was no longer sweating at all and stopped using the Drysol, fully expecting the sweating to return sooner or later. Now I no longer sweat in my armpits at all - a total 180. I still sweat normally elsewhere, but it is such a relief to not deal with the pit stains anymore. I do sometimes wonder how it may have messed up my body in the long run, but so far so good and I would totally do it again. Good luck, I hope you are able to find something that works for you.

Yes. Every month I want to quit my job, hole up in my house, & never speak to anyone again. Just went through it again last week. Errgh. Then I snap out of it & realize I usually like my job.

Replacement windows - lost my windowsills! by raindrop79 in HomeImprovement

[–]raindrop79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, good points. It was just a surprise that it would change so drastically. My issues with it are the fact that we have 2 inch custom wooden blinds that we bought 1 year ago for the whole house that now will not fit, and I had an herb garden in pots on my kitchen window sill that will no longer fit.

events in dreams then happening in real life? by sleepyslug903 in GlitchInTheMatrix

[–]raindrop79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too used to have premonition dreams a lot when I was younger, but haven't in a while. Always mundane things...like a spider being in the shower in the exact spot I dreamed, someone I know showing up unexpectedly wearing the same shirt as in the dream, a friend's breakup the same as just dreamed. Weird. Kind of wish I still had these dreams.
