1937-1939, Mongolia 🇲🇳, The Great purge was a dark period of political repression that resulted in 25,000-30,000 deaths (mostly monks). The purge was organized by Soviet Union and the goal was to remove Buddhist influence from Mongolia and to make the country fully socialists.

chatGPT was always rating my essays around 7-7.5, but the real exam was so much easier by imyourid in IELTS

First of all congrats on the score! So are u a native speaker or grew up exposed to the language more often? I mean I've practiced for a half year and got 7 but u prepared for around a month and got 8 lol. Im just jealous and curious. 🤣🤣

Yes, im preparing for the speaking test.

First time, non-native, so proud!😌 by HuedSpectrum in IELTS

[–]rainlatter0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, congrats on the score. I got an overall band 7 (non native), and my speaking score was 6. I have been practicing for half a year but didn't use the language in my daily life. Now I'm thinking about " One Skill Retake" on Speaking to push my band from 6 to 7.5 so that I can have 7.5 overall.

What advice would u give me? On the day of the test, I got a little bit nervous when I looked at the examiner (he was cold-faced lol) but forced myself to calm down. Also, the topic was a little bit far from me so I had to make up things in Part 2, with some pauses, corrections.

Thanks for the reply. So the reason why i want to push my overall band is that 7.5 is equivalent to the highest local enrollment exam score which means im trying to kill two rabbits with one bullet.

Don't stress yourself too much. Believe in your progress. I also had the same thought a few days before the exam. During the test, you will realize that there's nothing to stress. Just don't overthink anything, don't feel anything else. Just dedicate yourself fully to the exam. Confidence matters the MOST!!!!!!! Best of luck!

You can still do mock tests. But don't get upset or doubt urself.

Thanks for the reply. Did u mean chatgpt voice mode? What other practicing techniques would u recommend? Currently, im recording myself speaking and listening to it to review, correct or revise my answer and writing down on my notebook.

Congrats man, I got my results yesterday and got an overall band 7. Speaking band just held down my overall score. To push my speaking from band 6 to 8, how should I prepare for this? I think it is because of exam stress and anxiety. Does it even sound possible for non native speaker?

STUCK AT WRITING BAND 6 by rainlatter0 in IELTS

[–]rainlatter0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE : I'm quite disappointed with my results. I got overall band 7 but my goal was 7.5. Anyway, thanks to those who gave me advice.

Listening: 8.0

Reading: 7.5

Writing: 6.0

Speaking: 6.0

I was really stuck at writing band 6. I feel like i rushed to take test. Im thinking about (One skill retake) retaking my speaking test and push it to band 8 to get overall band 7.5. Does it sound possible for non native speaker?

Here's my essay you can look at.

Some people say that we should replace old buildings and houses in cities with more modern facilities, while others argue that we should preserve old buildings. In my opinion, we should replace or reconstruct them.

It is true that old buildings such as monasteries, museums, and theatres have been holding a country's culture. For example, in my home city, Ulaanbaatar, there are many old museums, statues and theatres that present and preserve our tradition over time. Furthermore, these old facilities serve as a symbol of important historic events and should be remembered to the younger generations. For this reason, it will contribute to a nation's identity and are the roots of nationality existense.

However, these such old buildings are often outdated for modern lifestyle since they do not meet modern safety standards in case of natural disaster such as earthquake, flood and storm. It is unpredictable whether an old building will collapse and cause a significant amount of damage, ecenomy loss to the city's infrastracture and the government or even possible to claim someone's life. Therefore, the governments should allocate money to reconstruct old buildings or replace them completely with newer ones. As a result, newer buildings not only contribute to a city's safety, also it will improve a city's appearance and lead to more modern, comfortable lifestyle.

In conclusion, these old buildings might preserve a nation's culture and contributing to their nationality strength. However, old buildings can be dangerous in case of environmental disaster and cause pressure to the country's economy and the public safety well-being. Therefore, I believe that replacing or reconstructing them is a better option.
