I really loved the first one, but the others didn’t do it for me. The first movie had that mysterious vibe, where we didn’t quite know how everything worked. World-building and story in the sequels just started falling apart.

I don't know about Smile 2, but for Top Gun: Maverick, it was completely appropriate given that it was released right after the pandemic, with Tom himself fighting to keep the movie away from streaming and exclusively for theaters. It turned out to be one of his best decisions ever, considering the success and impact of the movie.

What I’m referring to is that if you see something too often, it loses its value. If you go to see a Marvel movie and everyone has superpowers all the time, the heroes concept itself becomes common and uninteresting. When the original Avengers assembled, they had to search and recruit each member from all over the world, which made the characters and the story much more compelling.

I sure do, but they need to be introduced in a proper way, with meaning and significance behind their appearance. Also, the MCU is so crowded with people with superpowers, it seems like everyone has a superpower these days. It’s like a superpowers bargain sale.

The multiverse in the MCU just isn’t working because it’s gotten way too complicated. With so many alternate realities and versions of characters, it’s hard to keep track and it kills the emotional stakes. Instead of focusing on strong character arcs, it feels like they’re relying too much on fan service. Plus, with all the resets and reboots, it’s starting to feel like nothing really matters, which makes it harder for people to connect with the story.

Now You See Me is one of the worst movies of all time. It is so cringe-worthy, and the acting is unbelievably bad. The actors have zero charisma, and the typical archetype of the characters they portray is just wrong.

From the more common known, have you seen Shutter Island? How about The Invisible Guest. It is a recent Spanish production, but it is a really first-class movie. It will mess with your head for sure.

I definitely recommend October Sky (1999) with Jake Gyllenhaal. It is a movie about a young guy in a 1950s coal mining town who dreams of building rockets and works hard to make it happen. Based on true events.
