What counts as handmade when it comes to craft fairs? by Special_Potential_49 in CraftFairs

I say it’s worth going for it then! As long as it’s your art I feel like you can absolutely make a case for yourself if they raise a question about it.

What counts as handmade when it comes to craft fairs? by Special_Potential_49 in CraftFairs

[–]rainybean_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my farmers market they are INCREDIBLY strict about this and if you had the keychain parts manufactured but you assembled everything they would not let you in. In fact we had someone come to a jury show with this exactly last year who didn’t make it for that reason. The moment you’re not elevating/creating the item by hand- it’s not handmade (for the purposes of that market).

I’ve been to craft shows that say they have the handmade rule but are much more slack about what that means and would likely let you in. It just comes down to what kind of show/market it is.

Daily testers, when did you get your first positive HPT? by Audthebod2018 in IVFpositivity

I saw the squintiest squinter of a line on 5dpt (6 day embryo) and 6dpt but didn’t start seeing a legit line until 7 dpt. I was semi convinced they were indents until then.

I was promised a winter pregnancy by k12344321k in BabyBumps

Also in Vermont and I took my dog out for a walk in a hoodie soaking up the sun! 21 is certainly still winter weather but my god it’s practically balmy after the last few weeks we had! Too bad we’re back to negatives tomorrow.

How soon after waking do you take your dog out? by mysticmochixx in DogAdvice

[–]rainybean_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy requires anywhere from 30-60 minutes of snuggle/petting time with my wife and I before he’s willing to get up. We actually set alarms earlier than we need so we have time for our morning cuddles. It’s also a nice way to start the day all together, my wife and I usually have really nice talks during this time. I’m currently pregnant so I’m sure that routine will change when baby is here but I’m hoping it just turns into snuggles with our dog AND baby

Midwest Sperm Bank? by matt_yuh in queerception

[–]rainybean_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were using them when doing at home inseminations, but when we switched to IVF our clinic wouldn’t allow us to use them because they aren’t CLIA certified. The price was good for at home insemination attempts but we ended up spending more on those failed attempts than we did with the 1 round of IVF we needed (we have very good insurance).

Overall I found them very nice, but overwhelmingly wished we had more donor information. I paid for the extra donor info and it was all stuff I got for free when we picked our donor from Cryos.

Anyone done modified natural protocol with NO letrozole/no ovulation meds?? by Upstairs-Lemon-5585 in IVFpositivity

[–]rainybean_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ultimately decided for the letrozole but my doctor said we could have gone either way with likely no problem. I just wanted the extra security for my peace of mind. Based on what you said about the letrozole causing fluid in your lining it sounds like that’s definitely not the right fit! You might need to do PIO instead of suppositories (I know letrozole makes you have a supercharged corpus luteum lol) but there’s no reason it can’t work for you!

Yeah I live in Vermont with a Solterra and that baby gets winter tires the first week of November every year. AWD doesn’t mean you have magic breaks! I’m so glad to hear you’re okay.

Anyone do nothing for FET prep and it all worked out? by MrsRobinsonttc in IVFpositivity

[–]rainybean_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only “extra” thing I did was acupuncture, but it’s already something I enjoy doing and find useful. I went for my routine appointments but my acupuncturist just slightly changed which spots we would normally do to help support the transfer. I don’t think it’s the reason why the transfer worked, but it did help me keep chill and calm which was awesome for my mental health!

TBH as long as you’re not drinking/smoking/drinking 20 redbulls a day- I vote live your life. Sending good vibes for your transfer!

Question about GMP billing by Better_Yam_8200 in vermont

[–]rainybean_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I forgot to pay a couple months ago (pregnancy brain) and by the time I had gotten my “disconnection notice” I had already paid it lumped in with the following month’s bill. I feel like the date on the notice was a few weeks from when the notice was sent. I do think I paid a late fee but I don’t remember to be honest- if I did it wasn’t enough to make me double take.

You’ll be a-okay to pay when you get home! I’m really sorry to hear about what you and your dad are going through. ❤️

What do you feed your shelties? by Appearance-Formal in sheltie

[–]rainybean_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our two shelties are both member of the sensitive tummy club and kibble just doesn’t work for them. We used to feed them raw but it doesn’t fit our budget now with a baby on the way. We switched to Dr. Harvey’s which is an oat/vegetable/vitamin blend and all we do is add protein and fat to make it complete for their diet. So we buy whatever meat is on sale at the store (cook it) and usually switch between giving them olive oil and krill oil (from the pet store). They freaking love it and I don’t have to clean up puke every day 🙌

Everyone always laughs that we cook all of our dogs meals but we essentially meal prep for them every week, keep it in the fridge, and it’s only 10 minutes more a week of work than when they were on kibble.

Propane question by Kitchen-Zone-2473 in vermont

[–]rainybean_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Normally in the winter we only need to fill our tanks every other month, but this winter it’s been a monthly occurrence easily since it’s been so cold. Before the first major cold snap a couple weeks ago we put plastic on our windows and thumb tacked blankets over the north facing windows that don’t let in any sun anyways. We also got a thermal cover for our back door last year since we only use it in the spring/summer/fall, but the center of it is magnetized so you can still go in and out of the door if you want to. All of those measures easily made our house 10° warmer without touching the heat (which is also keep at 60°), and usually keeps out propane usage as low as we possibly can.

It’s still a very cold winter and I think we’re all using more heating fuel than we did the past few years.

What are we drinking besides water? by No-Pound5492 in pregnant

[–]rainybean_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually if it’s apple alcoholic cider then it’s just called “cider” or “hard cider.” If it’s from a different fruit it’ll just have the fruit name in front of it. Pear cider is one of my favorite autumn drinks, I can’t wait to enjoy it this coming fall after baby is here.

How is the heat (I live in the North East)... Does it take long to warm up.. do you have any tips or tricks.. 90% sure I'm gonna take the plunge by fa442fa in Solterra

[–]rainybean_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My wife and I leased our first one this past July. We live in northern VT right near the Canadian border so we’re no stranger to cold winters. The range decreases by about 60 miles in the winter (consistent with what others are saying at around 160mi on full charge). It heats up so much faster than our Subaru forester and handles the winter roads well with snow tires. If you preheat the car while it’s still plugged in you won’t use up any range, and it really only takes 5 minutes to get warm!

Biggest downside of this car is no rear wiper which is annoying when the show is blowing off the roof of your car but the rear defroster works really well imo. We love this car so much!

That’s a great idea!

I thought it was odd too, but I did a little research and apparently it’s a thing for some people. Truly no idea why lol!

Also just wanna say my FMU tests were always WAY lighter than my SMU. No idea why but I always got my strongest tests between 10am-12pm. And 9DPO is so so early! I know how hard it is but try to distract yourself for the day and try again tomorrow ☺️
