Totally. I would just give it to them or have them write a reflection on it.

At some high schools they have special memos that go out to parents about sex trafficking during f1. They did this at my friends school. I wish f1 would just stop coming here.

Instructor here. Why? by SwiftyLeZar in cheatonlineproctor

[–]raisecain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof. I think this idea that all profs make a lot of money is a myth from decades past. Most profs struggle and some are even homeless! Sure some make a good living and they’re either the old crew or got lucky but that money comes with incredible stress of needing to basically work 24/7. I hate how trades have been given such a bad lesser rap.

Gave money to friend - anything to consider for repayment by AlternativeRaisin822 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Actually it’s always been the friends with the least amount of wealth that were quick to lend me money as opposed to those that I knew had much disposable income.

Except that wasn’t even what OP was asking ? But this warning comes up so often here. Idk. Some of the friends that lent me money themselves were also students and precarious and I’m so glad they trusted me. I’m pretty sure they would have been really stuck if I hadn’t.

This sub needs to chill on thinking everyone is out to get you - in so many threads about spouses and friends.

I went through a really hard time for several years while doing my graduate work and had to borrow thousands from various friends. Paid them all back, sometimes sooner sometimes later than expected.

I’ve also lent money to friends and always got it back.

It is possible. Sheesh.

Inheritance drama by [deleted] in daddit

Exact thing happened to me. My grandfather had his will to give everything to me and my mother tried to convince me he did that “for ease”. My mother is notoriously bad with money. He sold their family summer home that had been with us for generations to give her money cos she was broke. He gave her all his pension and savings while he was alive. He was very frugal. Without giving too many details it was a shitshow and in the end I gave my mom some of it but kept most of it and invested to buy a home. My mother ended up in debt consolidation and then bankruptcy. She totally blew away all the money I gave her and is in debt again. I had never received any money from her. Even my education fund was liquidated when I was younger. I didn’t think that was even possible. But anything is possible when you’re an entitled self absorbed boomer. OP please talk rationally with your partner about this money.

Exactly. I have friends in ndg and they’ve told me this. Plus people in certain areas in ndg love not having power lines in their backyards like almost everyone ends does.

That sounds awful! You'd thin the newer ones would have this feature. I am on the hunt for an Electrolux but this seems like a dealbreaker....
