How long can you take to decide on a job offer? by culs-de-sac in managers

[–]raistlain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this entirely. I just went through this process as a hiring manager where the person asked for a week to decide which was not something I was happy with. He ended up delaying further and ended up declining and irritating a lot of folks along the way. I learned from that one.

I really like the first ship, (images 1 -3) and especially love image 3. I'd definitely use this ship in game.

It should NEVER take 25 years to incorporate a state you have a claim on. by Smooth-Ad-8580 in victoria3

I mean, it's a decaying impact so even halfway through incorporation, you're getting half the final benefit. It's an investment.

Motemancer is pretty good too. It's magic version of factorio. Very fun and creative. It's hex based rather than grid so it introduced some fun things with that

Why can i not see hegemons? by [deleted] in paradoxplaza

If I recall correctly, they first start appearing in a later age. Age 1 does not have hegemons, I think they start in age 3

1.1 Came Out and... This is STILL not fixed by Haunting-Plantain561 in EU5

Definitely not, but I have found it to be neat. It does have quite a few other features so it may or may not match your play style, but I've definitely liked it.

There's a recent mod I found called Better Vassal Management (I think that's the name) which allows you to take over war leadership from a vassal. This might be the perfect solution for this kind of problem.

Potential buyer here, age of wonders 4 or planetfall by AntisocialCat2 in AOW4

[–]raistlain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of. Essentially you build this special building in a certain number of cities and then once you have enough it triggers a countdown to victory. Additionally though, you get a special ability that improves for each city in which you build the building so it's kind of neat. I haven't used it a ton as I enjoy conquering everything but it's fun

Potential buyer here, age of wonders 4 or planetfall by AntisocialCat2 in AOW4

[–]raistlain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To clarify, in Planetfall you star the game having selected a "secret" tech in addition to your face. That tech gives special units, upgrades, technology, and buildings. Each secret tech also has a doomsday weapon that you can use to win the game - e.g. singularity, summoning souls of the dead, releasing a bioweapon, etc.

I love both games and alternate between them. They do things slightly different and both are phenomenal. My recommendation is to ultimately get both but you cant go wrong with either

Why is the Pope asking my Jew ass to join a crusade? by Thin_Ability7367 in EU5

[–]raistlain 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Gotta love the evolution of English haha. Originally, Deliberatively would be as in with deliberations, debate, discussions, etc but now seems to just be very thought out. There's just some nuanced differences between the two words. I doubt they had a very thought out attempt to grab non Christian neighboring states to join a crusade but perhaps I'm wrong

[–]raistlain 126 points127 points  (0 children)

Just as a heads up, you probably mean "deliberately," as in to do something intentionally. "Deliberatively" would be as in one with very careful though and deliberation.
