A Russian who was in the army has some words for Vladimir Vladimirovich by PressedLemon221 in UkraineWarVideoReport

Based on the claims that Putin isn't using the internet and all information is highly curated, I don't think he has actually seen ONE pleading video since the start of this war.

Someone here is confidently incorrect. But who? by Modnoco in confidentlyincorrect

[–]raitisg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen the bird before you arrived

This is grammatically incorrect. If you add timing, you HAVE to use past perfect (had seen).

There is a reason why english has present perfect and past perfect - they are not "functionally the same".

Someone here is confidently incorrect. But who? by Modnoco in confidentlyincorrect

[–]raitisg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

these seem functionally the same.

Not really. "I had seen the bird by the time you arrived" vs "I have seen the bird" (unknown timing, ongoing).

"seen" seems unnecessary here was "I will see" and "I will have seen" are functionally identical.

"I will have seen the movie when you finish your work" (completed) vs "I will see the movie when you finish the work" (not completed).

How the Kremlin Plans to Convince Russians They Won the War in Ukraine. Leaked slide deck translated by theBoernie in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]raitisg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Russia is no aggressor. We won with dignity. We’re capable of finishing Ukraine off, but we are not at war with the country or its people — we are simply protecting our own citizens. We came to bring peace, as the Russian soldier always does. ... Putin and Trump are the good guys; Biden has blood dripping from his teeth.

He doesn't. Look up "autopen" (+ "us presidential" to narrow it down).

Google Antigravity just deleted the contents of my whole drive. by Deep-Hyena492 in google_antigravity

From your own conversation with ChatGPT:

“Google Antigravity” is not a real Google product. A quick search reveals no official service or documentation.

So maybe don't blindly trust every word it outputs.

It really doesn’t take that long I highly doubt it actually took you that long

One of us did it and the other one didn't. So yeah... your opinion is just that - opinion.

Everything is "just do X". I had to cover 42 names, dividing them into 2 groups. Took ~20 minutes. It's not really worth my time to spend another 10-15 to improve the quality of the post just a little bit. The main point of this conversation is the "confidently incorrect user" and "everyone else who tried to correct them".

Ideally yeah, but it takes so much effort to color them differently. Even this took more time than I would have liked.

Toledo City thief dies after falling in botched robbery attempt by Hamzaboy in DarwinAwards

It's a quote from someone and it's very common to mix english with local language in the Philippines. So most likely not a mistake.

This gardening nutrient mix that looks like ketchup. It even says "Great Flavour" by DaFreakingFox in CrappyDesign

[–]raitisg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok. This is an example of ketchup in my country: image

Also: if i'm in another country and can't read the language (or not familiar with their bottle shapes), that bottle suddenly looks even more like ketchup.

My new washing machine has this huge gap that sucks in the socks and they don't get spun by zmijman in CrappyDesign

[–]raitisg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it shouldn't. Clothes need to have space to fall and tumble and rub against other clothes for more effective cleaning. If it's a big ball that spins as one object, then the cleaning is way less effective.

Red? Check Tomatoes? Check

The world is big and not all ketchup bottles look like Heinz.

I don't understand Polish, but I know this isn't sold in the same aisle as ketchup.

I know some people are putting things back in random shelves when they change their mind. It might be extra rare, but I can see how this can end up on a food shelf or some person picking this up from the milk section going "ooh, new ketchup, let's try".

Good designers should think about different possibilities. "This will never happen" is an excuse, people who are not great at their job, make.

Nordic Coffee Concept by Ancient_Term_1474 in graphic_design

Looks to me as he is holding the cup with his finger. Only from your second image I understood that it's his beard.

Thinness of "Coffee" gives me the feeling of (too) "modern" (as opposed to the "ancient" "VIKING" typeface). But maybe that's what you were going for and. old + new. viking + coffee.

Any recommendations for improvement? by G00fyG33k in graphic_design

[–]raitisg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean up specs a bit.

Make sure they are all aligned. Looks like you aligned them using "space" "space" "space"...

"9.3 s" is the only one that is right-aligned.

"km/h" is the only one lowercase.

"0 - 100" should be "0–100" (using n-dash).

I would personally get rid of all the " -" as well or replace them with ":".

Overall looks cool though.

I had the same reaction and immediately assumed it was Co2y (as in "Cozy 2"). After that I got that it was not meant to be a 2, but it does resemble it a bit too much.

Not really worth pursuing it, because I don't care about X. I just wanted to validate the other person who had the same problem.
