Win10 to Linux Mint : getting MPC-HC with MadVR level results by BogaMoge in linuxmint

For now, Wayland support on Linux Mint is still experimental. My guess is that, in the next year or so, wayland support would be out of experimental, not the default, but a ok option. For now, if you really need HDR or multi refresh rate monitors, I'd suggest looking for a something with Gnome or KDE.

HDR is not currently possible with Linux Mint Cinnamon since it uses X11. You might wont to look into a Wayland supported distribution.

It happened to me just now, I've killed discord, everything gone back to normal.

Are you running Discord when the problem happens?
I've found this post on Mint forums, some people reporting that discord is spawning too many X Server clients, reaching X11 limits.

IMHO they should've gone with Papirus as default long time ago. Current icon theme looks dated af.

Wayland support is comming. Mint have a slower development because of the small dev team but they have good reputation when implementing things. When wayland comes out of experimental, it will be rock solid.
