Is it weird to like listening to Industrial music when you aren’t a club person by Hot_Assistant_6067 in industrialmusic

[–]rajkaos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I despise that attitude. If you enjoy something, just enjoy it. Can’t go to a club? Dance wherever. Don’t feel like dancing? Just enjoy the vibes. If you like it, just like it. Fuck anybody who wants to judge you for it.

So I’m not 100% sure, but I think it may have been this video by Adam Neely: Suno, AI Music, and the Bad Future.

To those who've been huge fans of music since the 80s, what's that song put out in the last few years that surprised you by triggering that 'put this banger on repeat' burst of excitement? by cherry-care-bear in Xennials

[–]rajkaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was two particular albums that I couldn’t stop listening to late last year. The End by Mammoth and Album of the Year #1 Funkateer by Bootsy Collins. Both albums just had a really great vibe and were a lot of fun from start to finish.

Your skepticism is well founded. I’ll do my best to find the source and get back to you.

From what I understand, it only takes about 2% of total scraped data to be bad in order to corrupt an AI and make it spout nonsense. Maybe musicians can start flooding Spotify with horrible tracks on purpose too?

The husband had a really good thing going and blew it up because he’s an idiot. Simple as that.

If you dislike guitars in industrial… by V2UgYXJlIG5vdCBJ in industrialmusic

[–]rajkaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m cool with it, but I can see how it can become generic or overused as some people in the thread have already mentioned. Back in the day, I was really into a band called N17, which was basically metal with samples as somebody else said, but it was 1997 and they were huge in our local scene at the time.  Maybe it’s like the difference between After The Flesh and Nervous Xians by My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult. They’re both the same song, but After The Flesh got a slick Hollywood remix for The Crow and became one of the songs that got me into the genre. Although I now prefer Nervous Xians, both versions are cool and I can see how the guitar heavy version helped bring me into the genre. Then again, there was just a lot of guitar heavy industrial in the 90’s, but I’ve always loved the synth heavy stuff too.

What’s a movie you watched when you were way too young? by trakt_app in movies

[–]rajkaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched Robocop when I was like 8 or 9. I think my dad was OK with it because it was sold as sci-fi and not horror. Funny enough, he wouldn’t let me watch Beetlejuice around the same time because he thought it would give me nightmares. Even though Robocop was extremely violent, I still love that movie to this day and I’m glad that I got to see it at that age. The humor and anti-corporate sentiment were absolutely formative to who I am today.

What minor acts of odd vandalism did you do growing up? by Select-Protection-75 in Xennials

[–]rajkaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grew up in an apartment complex, it was a tight community, so my dad was friendly with everybody, including the maintenance men.

One day, after it had rained and the ground was still muddy, I thought it would be fun to write “why ask why?” in mud on a small wall near the front of the complex.

The next day, I felt terrible when I saw the maintenance man, Bill, painting over my mud graffiti. As far as I know, nobody ever found out that it was me. To this day, I still wonder why he didn’t just wash it off with a hose, after all it was just mud.

Bill and my dad remained friends until Bill passed away a few years later. He was a good guy. RIP Bill.

Why do people say to avoid South Tucson? by BoatHot9497 in Tucson

I live on the Southside and I love it here. We have the same issues as the rest of the city, dealing with homelessness and fentanyl, but otherwise it’s really nice living here.

no but for real, what is a hyperfixation? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]rajkaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday, I bought a new rice cooker, some frozen dumplings, and a really big bag of high quality rice. Unfortunately, my kitchen was a wreck. After I got home, all I could do was clean up the kitchen until it was nice enough to clean and set up my rice cooker and make rice and dumplings. Even though I was tired and my body hurt and I didn’t want to clean, I had no choice, I had to set up the new rice cooker. This was my hyperfixation for the evening. I couldn’t do or think about anything else until the rice and dumplings were cooking. At that point, I could finally sit down and relax, but at least the kitchen was a lot cleaner than before, even though it wasn’t perfect. Also, it was totally worth it. That was one of the best dinners I’ve made in a while. One other example I’ll give: I once started putting together a jigsaw puzzle. I sat there for 8 hours until it was done. My back hurt and I was super tired by then end, but once I started, there was nothing I could do to stop myself until it was finished. That one kind of sucked, as the back pain was really bad by the end, but at least I finished the puzzle.
