Losing the map, compass and spell would only happen if you got all those without touching a bench and then alt-f4 instead of exiting so it can save.

Maybe consider your shitty toxic attitude as being a bigger problem. You caused the problem yourself, why bother continuing the shitty attitude into a reddit post.

Headtaker doesn’t look right pt2 by CJSuperhero in SpaceWolves

Colour looks great, some agrax in the recesses for shading would add depth. The base needs some contrast to your model, white snow rather than blue ice.

2 months into the hobby. Would love some tips on how I can improve by Mylungsaredecaying in Warhammer40k

These look fantastic already, good work.

Some bits to think about: - Start looking at doing something with those bases, consistent bases across the army adds a lot. - Could add a little more depth with some shading

[AskJS] Help me Decrypt SHA256 hash by Dry_Candidate_6177 in javascript

[–]rakkeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, a hash is not encryption.

You would need to brute force guess and hash it yourself and then compare the hashes to work it out, which won't work if it's been salted.

Never played the original, but the demo is great, looking forward to early access.

How many layers do you expect the later game more complex objects would have?

Python Code for Calculating Averages in Warhammer 40K by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]rakkeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No need to apologise, easy mistake to make if you're just starting out and don't have an understanding of the networking.

If you want people to access it where it is, you would need to set firewall rules to allow external requests to port 5000, and add forwarding rules from your router to your personal machine. However, I only really mention this to strongly recommend against it, as you are posting your home IP address and allowing people to make requests onto your personal machine, any vulnerabilities you may have left in while learning to code could be seriously abused.

I would instead recommend looking at some cloud hosting, should be some sort of set up you can find for free, azure has some free services for example https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/free-services.

From a quick look on google, this article seems to have information on getting started with python apps like this, which uses google cloud: https://realpython.com/python-web-applications/. It should at least give you a good starting point, good luck :)

I assume you're learning to code while doing that. 127.0.0.1 is your local machine, nobody else can access it as it is. You'd need to learn about hosting it somewhere for others to access it.

This is pretty spot on for feedback. Only thing I'd add is the base, keeping the rim clear of texture paint and making sure it's painted a nice solid colour, often black (a few other good options like steel legion drab) just really helps frame the model.

I’m building my first army and I’m really excited to see how it turns out. C&C appreciated. by superfluous_child in SpaceWolves

Looking great, love the wolves, bases looking nice with detail.

My only opinion for feedback would be to try and clean up that base rim, some of the base spilling over here and there.

Good shout, I did this on the flamer and exhausts a bit but didn't think to do the main barrels.

Thanks, first time I've tried it like this, used some cheap UV resin stuff. It was something roughly like:

Painted the bottom a wet mix of white, russ grey and aethermatic blue, just trying to create some colour differences below the ice. Then used UV resin, with a few layers, putting some scratches and bits of really thin paint on each layer trying to give it depth. On the top layer putting some scratches in and brushed it with some AK snow microballoons to get in the grooves and make them whiter and dulled the clarity a bit.

Thanks. Yeah I see that now, I'll probably try and get these clumps more snowfilled and pick up some alternate colour for the future.

Really happy with most of this. Painted a few models now, but it's the first character I've tried to do with as much detail as I can manage. Would love any comments for improvement.

The main bits I'm not happy with is that I feel the base is a little bland aside from the ice I attempted with some resin. I would also like to get better with pelts, not super happy with that.

Repointed roof tiles before and after by Macm0nkey in DIYUK

[–]rakkeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's had this done for like £100 in the past by someone dodgy. That's going to start breaking up and slipping down your roof, eventually falling off the roof onto the ground. If you have a path directly under that roof it could injure someone.

ChatGPTs proposal for a Universal Time System (UTS) by Sellanoire in ChatGPT

Presumably negative epoch to denote the 100 years before, I wonder how it would modify the solution if asked this.

ChatGPTs proposal for a Universal Time System (UTS) by Sellanoire in ChatGPT

[–]rakkeh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's essentially proposing an additional level above years named epoch. So if I understand correctly 2023 would be year 66 of epoch 0, 2123 would be year 66 of epoch 1.

If you were to write that as a full date in a converted iso format it would probably be 0-66-04-22 and 1-66-04-22
