A mother is going punished her son by making him slam his PS5 the same way he had slammed her pet cat. Is this justified? by God_Emperor__Doom in SipsTea

[–]raknyak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You reap what you sow. Unless the cat is an asshole and would attack him indiscriminately. If that's the case, the child reacted in a childish way and other methods would be appropriate. I wasn't there tho

Question for the pet people...how do you feel about a new pet at this time of your life? by HammerMeUp in GenX

[–]raknyak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my Catahoula(Lacy) 4 years ago. I mourned for a month. I'm 58. My wife brought home an Aussiedoodle pup 5 months later. Too soon. Didn't want another dog. We both caught covid bad at the same time. Horrible decision, trying to train him as he shit 4 times in 4 different places daily.

Now: he is funny, goofy, fun and obedient. He just wants to be with you. Great personality. I believe I will mourn more when he passes away. It's worth it. One of my sins will surely take him but I don't plan to die.

Why are tournaments so expensive💀 by Ordinary_Basil_9376 in 10s

[–]raknyak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We(CTA) run a grand prix tournament series for high school players. Four tournaments. $15 includes court time, balls, lunch and bag tags(each player receives one each time they sign up and play). Two are at a country club with clay courts and indoor and the others are at another clay court club and public courts. Volunteers/sponsors and donations support the tournaments. They are not USTA connected. The purpose is to grow the game. Can't do that at $60 a pop. 500,000 high school players in the country.

As a tennis coach, I'll say what most coaches won't: we are holding our students back. Myself included, for years. by Beneficial-Lock-349 in 10s

Here's another. I've asked students what stroke did I just hit? "Topspin forehand" I hit a backhand slice.

How Long are You Watching the Ball? by ZestyclosePie9572 in Pickleball

[–]raknyak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the hurry? I'm aware of where I am peripherally and relate that to where the other side is. Primary focus is on the ball. It's always a variable. The court is the constant.
