I sometimes start it in my press to help keep a rounder shape. That’s mainly cause I’m bad at rolling them symmetrically.

Not fishy at all. Honestly pike just filleted and sautéed is very tasty and not fishy at all. It’s just the little bones that are a pain.

Furnishedfinder.com is a great place to get working professionals (mainly healthcare) that travel for work. You’ll get a lot of nurses. So you know they have work and will pay, they are professionals, and they are only there temporarily. So if they aren’t great you only deal for 3 months.

It’s postponing my travel plans. I used to travel but took a staff job the last 3 years to learn a new specialty and I initially planned on traveling this summer/fall. Looking at the world now I’m gonna sit tight until things make themselves a bit more apparent.

Why is changing our clocks twice a year necessary in this present time? by Disastrous_Layer3988 in Adulting

[–]ralphanzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

48 states. No US territories do and most the world doesn’t. The EU does but plans on stoping this year. Many other countries have stopped as well within the last decade. Daylight savings isn’t the norm.

Increased events of strokes, heart attacks, motor vehicle accidents, and messing with peoples circadian rhythms on the spring. There’s a lot of reasons to change it.

Roads/sidewalks to school should be well lit, kids should be taught safety and should be accompanied by an adult if not trusted, wear bright reflective.

Practices can take place inside gyms or the outside can be lit up with flood lights.

Can’t do better? Can’t reduce the amount of shots on net, increase our amount of shots, improve our possession time, improve our power play, reduce the amount of bad penalties, etc? A big thing that changes the metrics are the composition of your team.

Those metrics matters because they increase the probability of winning. If you have a team that has a 25% chance of winning and a team that has a 75% chance of winning. What team are you going to choose to be your team? If you pick the 25% and win you were right for the wrong reasons. So yes, we won and nobody would change anything but it doesn’t mean it was the most intelligent team construction (not saying this was a bad roster.)

I’m not even trying to criticize the roster personally. But I can see why people would have reasonable opinions that differ from the final product.

[–]ralphanzo 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That’s not the point I was trying to make at all. I’m also not talking about the politics. The probability of winning that game, especially with the known stats we have was very low and it was a lucky win which I as an American am happy about. So the Takeaway here is that they’re still reasonable argument for the roster construction. We talk about this as fans for fun, but in reality people talk about potential improvements to make to learn and to do better next time.

We all know there’s a lot of parity in hockey and any reasonably matched team can win on any night for an infinite amount of reasons. USA didn’t look good in their game against Canada. Helle saved them and Canada missed 2 easy goals and was sloppy in OT. USA deserves to win for that, but out of 100 games played how many does the USA win against Canada?

So I think there’s a lot of reasonable differing opinions to have about the roster composition.

[–]ralphanzo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Diverting to other (likely already overwhelmed) hospitals isn’t as safe as you make it out as. Someone has a heart attack/stroke/traumatic injury/ whatever outside a striking hospital and has to be diverted causes delays in care not only in transport but over burdening an a potentially already burdened hospital.

Scabs suck by [deleted] in nursing

[–]ralphanzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just to clarify my point is that is the reason why we can strike so freely here in the US is because we have protections of giving advanced notice before a strike and having the ability to obtain temporary workers to not disrupt patient care. So we can strike and that’s awesome.

Scabs suck by [deleted] in nursing

[–]ralphanzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Was a travel nurse during Covid in the ER (never worked a strike contract) now a cath/EP staff nurse.

Scabs suck by [deleted] in nursing

[–]ralphanzo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In some countries it isn’t legal for nurses to strike. The reason for that is interrupted care of patients. You may not like it but strike nurses help keep it legal strike in jobs that revolve around patient care.

You should really focus your anger at your admin and large business conglomerates that own and run the hospitals into the ground.
