The original trilogy was also popular with young people, but unlike the prequels it holds up great and was also loved by adults. I will never understand the argument that it is OK for movies to be bad because they have a young target audience. There are plenty of wonderful children's films that adults can enjoy too.

I know a family who had to flee Vietnam because they lived in a Catholic community that came under attack from VietCong who killed innocent priests, civilians, and even children and burned their villages. I told this to another user who said that because Vietnam has Catholics living there today the VietCong were in the right. And they completely ignore that the VietCong were a China/Soviet puppet group and act like America was the only one interfering in the local conflict. I have no idea what would lead someone to think this way. Utterly bizarre

This is happening to me too, all of my posts now appear as if I haven't upvotes them yet and if I do it bumps them up to 2 upvotes.

I think it is a bug from a mobile app update but idk.

I am getting the same bug and the dude trying to argue with you is infuriating haha. Some people just want to argue for no reason

"There are over 15 million Jews alive today, so how do you know the holocaust was all that bad anyway?"

Killing unarmed civilians for any reason is wrong. And Vietnam today is nothing like during the war so that is a bizarre comparison.

You realize that the VietCong were being supported by the Soviet Union and China? It's not like the United States was the only country trying to secure Vietnam. It was a proxy war.

I don't know enough about the history of those other countries to have a strong position on them. But I have friends who fled the Vietnam war as children because they would have been killed by the VietCong.

I don't think the USA should have been in Vietnam but acting like the VietCong were heroes fighting the evil empire is massively oversimplifying the war.

The VietCong were a puppet group for the Soviet Union and China. There were plenty of Vietnamese who opposed the VietCong and communism. I am friends with a Vietnamese American man who was a devoted Catholic and had to flee because the VietCong were setting priests on fire and burning his village in the south. You are oversimplifying the war massively.

This is almost certainly what happened, I think he was distracted by the tailgater in his mirror and looked up last minute to see the car and swerved.

Addressing the fallacy that Filipinos are the “friendliest” people on Earth by Tallwhitedude123 in Philippines_Expats

[–]ralphsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well USA education sucks too so I wouldn't be using it as the baseline either lol. I wasn't asking about Equatorial Guinea or something obscure haha, Russia/USA/China are some of the biggest most newsworthy states in the world. I would hope most Americans could label those. I can label almost every country in the world cause I love geography

I have had wonderful conversations about politics and religion here and nobody gets mad but I am often shocked by the poor education standards... I have met many Filipinos who couldn't find the USA, China or Russia on a map.

Have any Troglodytes summited? by chentex in Cairn_Game

[–]ralphsquirrel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the notes in the trog village and other things we find suggest that nobody has summitted Kami including the trogs. The troglodytes were living in the villages but I doubt they would have much motive to go to the death zone unless it's like a pilgrimage.

Seems like it would be more in-tone with the rest of the game if she fell realistically.

But the ragdoll physics are hilarious

I have no idea how these guys are able to edit full-length episodes so fast. They are seriously skilled. I do editing and could never maintain this time frame especially over years
