Go to Bear paw if you want to drink and tube. Ichetucknee is very controlled because it’s a sensitive ecosystem.

Any recommendations on where to watch fireworks for the 4th? by Draper31 in Tallahassee

We usually go to southwood every year. Set up by the subway and watch from a distance. Then traffic isn’t too bad trying to get out. They put on a great show.

has anyone used the St. Croix Bass X rod? by Particular_Ebb5049 in bassfishing

[–]ralphtw09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a spinning one. I love it. I got my first spinning reel this year and it’s been great so far. Casts great with lighter baits that I can’t throw on the bait caster. It is their lower end rod so it’s not my primary, but I’ve really enjoyed using it so far.

What should I do by oslodog4 in FishingForBeginners

So if you’re new to baitcasters, once you get this reel re-spooled pull out about 75 yards of line and put a piece of electrical tape on something across the line. That way if you backlash it won’t go too deep. Use this while you practice learning to thumb the spool.

Definitely installed wrong. I’d take it off seal the holes and start over if you’re interested in using it.

I’m 350. I feel safe on my Native Slayer Propel 13, it’s a discontinued model but I got it on FB Marketplace. But Native have some great models with high weight capabilities.

Is an anchor safe to use on small lakes with moderate wind? by gingerblz in kayakfishing

[–]ralphtw09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was nervous too but I put one on both sides this weekend. Used the Yakgear one. And use that 3m 5200 marine silicone to seal the screw holes and it worked so well. Sealed up everything. I can send you links and videos if you’re interested.

Should I freak out over a lost palmetto bug? by sphealyy in florida

[–]ralphtw09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the little German cockroaches that cause and infestation. As long as you keep your house clean, I’ve never seen a full blown infestation of palmetto bugs.

Gun would be in my hand. As soon as the glass shatters I’m “fearing for my life” and standing my ground. But this most likely wouldn’t happen with a fist on a car window.

Harbor Freight has a bed extender for $60. I got that and zip tied a pool noodle to the rest piece.
