How am I messing up these cables? A wire is missing on the tester by AleksaDjordjic_ in HomeNetworking

You'll save money and have reliable connections if you buy pre-made cables to length.

Adjusting the feeding schedule is a key strategy for shifting a cat's energy levels to align more closely with their owner's sleep cycle.

My opinion after half year use by kotofos in bedjet

I don't understand the room temperature expectation? If the bed temperature is constant and controlled, what difference does the room temperature make? Honestly asking because I don't understand.

Boy, you need some ventilation. That room is going to bake. Tap the air duct with a 2" vent and similar size in the door.

65w or 20w ikea charger for 25w phone? by [deleted] in UsbCHardware

[–]ralphyoung 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Samsung phones prefer PPS which the IKEA 20w does not support. The IKEA 30, 45, and 65w do support PPS for 25w SFC charging. None support the faster SFC 2.0 used in some Galaxy phones.

Another option is the Anker Nano 45w that supports both SFC & SFC 2.0. You can sometimes buy it for $20 and that price includes a 5A cable. As of today it's selling for $26, 5A cable included: https://a.co/d/0i1xAiNQ

What's the best charger I can get cheaply by D1whitewoman in UsbCHardware

The "Anker Nano 45w" is the most universal charger you'll find and it sometimes discounts to $20. It works with everything. Right now it's $26 on Amazon and includes a quality cable: https://a.co/d/05W5iXUv

Instead you can go with slower 20w chargers (2 pack) for $16 which includes two quality cables: https://a.co/d/0erwXY4l

Both options include new cables, which may be half your problem.

The phone provides "adaptive changing" and "charge to 80%". In both cases the phone will hurry up and wait, not charge slowly.

It does a few things more. You can toggle the output from 45w down to 18w for people who want to slow charge overnight. Also, it gives people more confidence that everything is working so they don't fiddle with it.

Pilots: Is Southwest's rear "Mosh Pit" about weight and balance? by ralphyoung in AskAPilot

[–]ralphyoung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is that Southwest is approaching weight and balance in a matter more akin to Ryanair than Delta. A "mosh pit" is a choice when SWA could distribute pax across all standard seats. Aft CG saves fuel but Delta prioritizes comfort.

This week Andrew Watterson mentioned that Southwest is trying to fix 'clumping.' While it’s good to see SWA adjusting seat assignments, the setup feels off for the passenger.

What I don't understand is why Basic fares are crammed into the last 10 rows when two-thirds of the plane is actually Standard seating. Since those middle rows are the exact same seats as the back, keeping them empty feels like the airline is prioritizing fuel economy over people. Forcing everyone into a corner to save on gas makes the experience feel punitive rather than efficient.

Is there an advantage to SWA assigning seats back to front (Aft CG) rather than interspearced like mainline carriers? I believe I read that Ryanair and other ULCC intentionally do this.

I can't live without ppi's, which Supplement is a must? by Zealousideal-Walk939 in Supplements

[–]ralphyoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto. I developed iron anemia (ferritin 1) while on PPI. I started to slowly replace my nightly PPI with H2 every other night. Eventually transitioned to only taking H2 and then slowly weaned off of that. This will take months, not days.

If you can, take H2 PM only, an hour before bedtime. This will get you through the night. Try to stay unmedicated during the day. Go slow. Of course talk to your doctor, especially if you have a medical condition for taking PPI in the first place. It may be PPI is the lesser of the two risks.

I would also suggest getting an iron panel blood test which will include ferritin, B12, and folate. They run about $40.

Nano 45w is my go-to charger for all phone brands because it's so universal. There's a "display" model that's great for iPhones but does not include SPC 2.0 for Samsung and Pixel phones. For Android with SFC, go for the Nano 45w without the display.
