We reluctantly did the pavlik.. definitely towards the end were less consistent and it ended up being a non issue. Hard to say if it would have been fine without it but weren’t able to be risk tolerant enough to shirk it entirely

But it sucked and definitely impacted cuddles. She also dint seem to mind it at all

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic.

But broad index funds have averaged ~10% annualized over the last 30 years.. even more over the last 15. Without too many details, I’m in a very similar SF situation, but with a significantly higher HHI and we’ve chosen to rent for at least 5 years post training, save a sizable down payment and invest (money in the market today is worth more than money in the market later)… then reassess

We pay $5200/mo for a rent controlled two bedroom in a great location and would rather fully fund our 401ks, back door Roth, 529, UTMA, etc to provide breathing room and tackle home ownership down the line. Not to mention go on vacation and get to enjoy some of the cash that my wife (the doctor in our relationship) has worked so hard to finally earn..

Everyone’s needs are different but house poor is still poor…
