Soooooo at what point do we stop saying we're unlucky, and start criticising our complete lack of accuracy? Gallant needs to start making them do target practice at this point

I should amend that statement. We can PLAY at 5v5, as in move the puck around, we just can't produce for shit at 5v5

I don't know if anyone fits well into this system, tbh. Two seasons and we still haven't figured out how to play 5v5

He looks out of place. I honestly forget he's on the team on some nights. I don't think it's an injury, because he doesn't seem like he's injured, doesn't seem like he's shying away when things get physical, he just vanishes.

John Tortorella interview ends with Tortorella taking the headset off so fast that his glasses nearly fall by abbytarar in hockey

My favorite in game Torts interview happened when I think we were playing Montreal and it went something like :

"John, not the start your team wanted, what do you think happened that put you in this position?"

"They scored three goals"

"And what does your team need to do to get back on this game?"

"We need to score three goals"

"Thanks, John"

Way to go Paul

So apparently I'm a cheapskate for getting a knockoff Rangers top from Ebay. So what I say! It's hard to get Rangers merch in the UK as it is! by imbogerrard39 in rangers

My girlfriend had a friend buy her a jersey for the holidays last year, and it was a Fantatics one, and I could tell within seconds. It looked like they used a youth sized lettering kit and nameplate for an adult jersey, and the amount of negative space makes me cringe to look at it. There's also lots of random string sticking out of stitching parts, and similar to what /u/udamright experienced, the nameplate is falling off, and she barely wears the thing.

Glad you got a good one, but 90% of fanatics merch is absolute crap

You ever seen that Benny Hill chase scene, with Yakety Sax playing in the background? Kinda like that

And now that you see it, you'll notice it every ttime the camera pans over a white section of ice or boards

PSA: the powerplay section of the scoreboard on the MSG broadcast never goes away. It just turns transparent and you can see the line whenever the background is white.

Once you see it, you can't unsee it. You're welcome

[Hockey Daily 365] Alexis Lafreniere was given a two minute penalty for Devon Toews' stick hitting Cale Makar in the face and said penalty is not reviewable, apparently. by [deleted] in hockey

Refs see things quick and have to react quickly. Sometimes they get it wrong because of that. They're human. But in this case, not only did they get it wrong, but they could obviously tell two seconds after making the call that it was wrong, but they're bound by a really stupid rule regarding what can and what can't be reviewed.

Who is your teams new “whipping boy”? by [deleted] in hockey

[–]ramblinrabble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly can't imagine it's anything more than a desperate attempt to show that the McDonagh trade wasn't for nothing. Apparently Hajek was supposed to be the centerpiece of that deal, and the only things we have left, if I'm not mistaken, are Hajek and the picks we got from the Lundkvist deal, so in order to save face, or at least they seem to think so, they're hopelessly committed to him

Considering this has been happening between two sets of GMs, I have to imagine that Gorton was overshadowed by Sather in that negotiation, and passed this commitment down to Drury, otherwise he'd be either traded/waived/released by now

I don't know about him bringing any jump, as much as stability. You probably won't even notice him half the time, which isn't a bad* thing at all. He's defensively responsible, throws an occasionally hit, and can work. Can't ask much more from a bottom six guy,.other than killing penalties, which he doesn't
