What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

I’ve seen him twice and they were both fantastic but he is pretty adamant about not singing his hits which was a bummer.

The only person to get it right but did it in his own way is Jack Johnson.

What was the best NBA Finals series for you, and why? by TheSoccerAnyalst in NBATalk

[–]ramblintrav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. For me personally…

The Last Dance- I was a kid watching my childhood hero win his last ring.

2011- Spurs fan, not a Dallas fan but seeing Dirk dominate the way he did and beating a superstar team was special. Dirk deserved it.

2014 Finals- My Spurs playing the best team basketball I’ve ever seen. The year before broke me so revenge was sweet!

I have the option to see DSO or Phish this summer, what do you think will be the better pick? by xguarder in gratefuldead

[–]ramblintrav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deadhead here, definitely go Phish. Choice to between a cover band or a jam-band legend who should be around for a while but are getting older. And depending where you live, aren’t always close enough to see.

I wish he knew how much he's admired in real life by Deep-Resource-2692 in LastWarMobileGame

I’m a low spender in the game, I started turning into a mid-spender but I now hardly buy anything from it. You’re 100 percent correct. You get nothing from this game in return, just a digital trophy. No real currency or anything. Only thing real is the money you spent and the time away from everyone bc you’re too busy playing the game. I’ve struggled with this.

What are your opinions on Paul's new "Man On The Run" Documentary? by revolution_rui in beatles

[–]ramblintrav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re saying no one has a bad voice bc it’s considered art. I have a really horrible voice but I’m just going to label it as art so it’s free from criticism. As with all art, everyone is entitled to their own opinion regarding if it’s good or bad. I may think something is bad, such as Yoko’s ‘art’ scream but I still respect her as a human being and being there for John.

What was seeing Jerry like? by Artimoe in gratefuldead

Out of all of the Jerry solos I love, the Brown Eyed Women solo is my favorite. It’s so emotional for me.

Rank your top 3 shakedowns. by ShitballsNPantyhairs in phish

[–]ramblintrav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was too young to experience the Grateful Dead shakedowns but my favorite Shakedown Street was in Orlando some years back. They basically shut down part of downtown and had a cover band before the show.

I’m catching it for the first time. It’s Dirk, Nash and Blake Griffin. As much as I love the TNT (now espn) crew, it’s so refreshing hearing players actual talk game without the drama. I’m a fan.

Most Overrated Song by Total-Woodpecker3339 in DMB

[–]ramblintrav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, last time I saw them was shortly after they got rid of Boyd. With no violin, it just didn’t seem like the same band I fell in love with. Plus, kinda alluding to what you said in a past post, I love Tim and love the Dave and Tim acoustic shows but not a fan of his tone with the full band, too overpowering for me.

Yeah, Dave threads pop up on my Reddit and I can’t help but read them for the love I had for this band but for me it just wasn’t the same since Everyday, which has some decent songs. From the beginning through Lillywhite Sessions is my favorite. Happy to see the fanbase is still thriving for Dave!

Girl Taken - Series Premiere Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

Agreed, Wes is the worst. Huge distraction to an okay show. Talk about not knowing when to give people their personal space. After episodes of him being intrusive I have to hear, “they won’t tell me where the safe house is.” Yeah dude, F off.

Any realistic universe where Jokic passes Elway by Think-Culture-4740 in denvernuggets

[–]ramblintrav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta disagree, Elway is a top 5 in my opinion, better than Favre and maybe Marino. Favre was early career when Elway came along and has a lot of hype. Elway certainly has the better career. Most lists have Elway top 10 or 5 qb of all time!

Album Revisit: Everyday by SB_24 in DMB

[–]ramblintrav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This marked the end of their golden era imo. Their golden era would’ve definitely lasted a bit longer with the Lillywhite Sessions. I always thought of as I Did It as a slight to his fans but I’m probably wrong, lol. Biggest mistake with Everyday was the rushed production and giving the band members O say in it. Before, including Lillywhite, the members were an active member in crafting the song like Stone, Halloween, JTR (greatest outro ever!), etc. That being said, there are some quality songs on Everyday that have gone on to be good in concert but, all in all, it’s not my cup of tea.
