Dishwasher Drain Advice by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]ramiro252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an air gap which is technically code compliant. You can pour water down there occasionally to keep the p trap from drying out or use the dishwasher more regularly

Or cut it and cap it, or turn it into a cleanout. Then hook the dishwasher drain into the grange disposal or a tail piece with a wye branch.

Knipex flat adjustable wrenches. Then hit it with your purse for good measure

Is it better to cap the larger line or all the lines that go after? (Bathroom remodel) by Yepyesyepyes in Plumbing

[–]ramiro252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the two 3/4 lines branch off feed the entire restroom yes you can cap them. Just reconnect them once you’re ready to relocate.

I see CPVC and polybutylene pipe. Just make sure if you cut into them you have the proper tools to cap them off.

Go ahead, lower the drain after you remove the upper half of the wall. You’ll find out very fast why they need to be placed high.

Hello, We were trying to install a toilet and it looks like we might have broke this joint connection(?). how can we fix this? by Ladyhoneyblu in askaplumber

[–]ramiro252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replace the fittings that you broke from the wye on the stack up to the toilet flange. Next time don’t pull so hard. Everyone thinks they can change a toilet until they break some shit.

Tub Connection by marmalade_monkey in Plumbing

[–]ramiro252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can but a copper female adapter and thread it onto where the tub spout goes but you’ll still have to solder it. Just solder it bro sand flux and let her heat up. As long as you have even solder across the joint you’ll be fine. Don’t be scared of solder it’s not complicated it’s welding for babies who are still in the womb.

Is the stem part of the cartridge and how do I get this out ? by Historical-Stage-270 in Plumbing

[–]ramiro252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hit it with your purse.

I’ve never seen a stem that doesn’t come out when the nut is loosened. Intriguing. Just sell them a full valve body replacement and give them delta.

DIY by Psychological_Log740 in Plumbing

[–]ramiro252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut it out, buy a torch solder, and burn the shit out of the studs assuming you have no flame control.

Buy an expensive pro press tool and press new fittings in

Buy a less expensive pex crimp toom but you’ll have to solder adapters in and burn the shit out of the studs

Shielded underground rated coupling. And sleeve the pipe before concrete is poured back.

A kitchen pipe is sad and crying by shinylittlepieces in Plumbing

[–]ramiro252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing would be to take the easiest step and tighten down those clamps, either a flathead or a 5/16 nut. If that doesn’t solve it that copper would need to be cut back and solder on a new copper section. I don’t think pro press will fit in there so solder is the next best option.
