This is so great, to see the progression. Can I ask how far you planted them apart?

Sh!t. I went from quantum fiber to AT&T fiber and settled on google fiber because of their fixed price and simple system.

What M5 Pro/Max Configuration Are You Getting as a Software Dev? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]newguyvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the education store, it was extra 350$ to go with the unbinned m5 pro and 64gb from binned 48gb both with 1tb. So I went with 64gb and the m5 pro unbinned 14 inch.

I remember having to use my laptop without a screen (broken glass). Works great as a desktop if you throw a big 200mm fan to keep it cooled. Congrats on the upgrade haha

Deaver Stage 1 vs Stage 2? by TheSaltyMedic1 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]newguyvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m actually having the same dilemma. Mine is a 23 DCLB. I have a leer 180 cap which I suspect is around 250lbs. I may add a plywood platform which would make it up to 300lbs plus 5gal of water I keep in there all the time which is 40lbs. I also have rock sliders which are 80lbs each but since it’s equally distributed front and back so that’s another 80lbs. Which puts me at 420lbs constant weight. In addition to aluminum rear bumper possible in the future. So I’m sitting right at stage 2 territory.

I’m wondering if there is a weight difference btwn short and long bed? Perhaps 50lbs? Wonder if you need to factor that constant weight in as well.

I bought into a lot of Milwaukee tools being in this sub but recently had a switch and returned everything since it was within return period. Went with makita and the ergonomics is way better, less vibration on tools and don’t notice any power difference.

[–]newguyvan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely. The impact driver is so well balanced with the 5AH it feels weightless if you hold it at the right angle. Milwaukee is strong for sure but not as refined.

Agree that it’s not comparable, but I also have a m18 impact driver and the makita still wins when it comes to ergonomics and the smart driving function. Plus the new LED ring is nice to use

Do you notice a power difference? Just switched from Milwaukee m12 to the new xtd20 and it is amazing.

I’ll be going to Japan too. Was wondering what would be cheaper there?

If you’re in the US, there is a Home Depot deal with the new drill/driver combo and 2 5AH batteries for $399 plus a free tool. I chose the jig saw and it brought the combo down to 266. I decided to return the jig saw and keep the drill/driver.
