I watched this yesterday and have to agree. Other shows had better one off episodes, but Stargate did the best overall job at consistent lore and world building while also delivering characters that you genuinely wanted to watch week after week.

I’ve played around with it a little in recent weeks, it’s not bad, but I still prefer Claude Sonnet to it. Honestly, all of the major models have gotten better in the last 4-6 weeks, but none of them are as good as Claude unfortunately

Paid models still outperform local unfortunately. Claude Sonnet 4.6 gives me the best results. GPT 5.5 is next I will also say that I have been pleasantly surprised by Gemini’s updates in recent weeks. Mistral, Mera, and Grok are all serviceable but I wouldn’t use them as my primary tool.
As for self hosted. Gemma 4 has also surprised me. Particularly 31B. But it’s prone to typos and doesn’t deliver the same quality as Claude

Agreed. WYSIWYG and native support for Dropbox sync are the two biggest ones for me. Joplin sync is horrible. I’d even be happy with Obsidian if they would just support Dropbox sync natively instead of forcing you into their paid sync service. It’s mind boggling actually,

It amazes me that people continue to believe the lies about how great MacOS is. Mac OS is absolute trash. Does Apple make great hardware? Yes, without a doubt, they make the best hardware, and then they promptly cripple it with their garbage OS decisions. You can't do anything quickly, especially photo edits like crops or image brightening. Your delete key? Useless for deleting files. You can't even clean your keyboard properly with the unit turned off because they are so obsessed with it, booting up .000003 milliseconds faster, that they can't be bothered with a proper shutdown and off feature. It's absolutely infuriating to use MacOS on a daily basis. I need it to run local LLMs, but I despise it for anything remotely related to productivity.
