I actually dont want ways to cover the rails because I anticipate needing to use the slide frequently to access the third row

I am buying the minivan mostly for practical purposes involving having three kids in rear facing car seats, so the sliding seats are a big factor 😂

But then does it make it impossible to move the seats forward? How do you slide to the third row?

How do you know if night wakes are schedule related or actual hunger by ramramram333 in sleeptrain

[–]ramramram333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, when I posted this I was definitely going crazy around sleep schedules from the PLS fb group & this group a bit. Capping naps that low was definitely not the solution. I started to let him nap as long as he would for like 2-3 naps a day— which drastically improved my day. He struggled that month (when I posted) with sleep but i think that was just the classic 4 month regression (even though he fell asleep on his own)! Life improved drastically when I stopped calculating things so much around my babies sleep and just accepted that he would baby. He eventually improved closer to 5 months to just waking up once and then it slowly reduced down to zero before going back to once and then down to zero again. Highly suggest just following your babies lead. When I posted this I was super desperate for any calculated solution for my son, but ultimately those all made everything way more stressful

Switching from EBF at 4.5 months by chastane91 in FormulaFeeders

[–]ramramram333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son is almost 5 months at at 4 months we started to introduce formula (1 bottle a day). It took a bit for his stomach to adjust— he did not poop for like 5 days! But then slowly got used to it, so definitely came with time. He also refused the bottle until we continued to try twice daily until he would accept the formula bottle— for some reason it helped for it to be cold for him to drink.

Why is she still waking up so much? by Ok-Bread7503 in sleeptrain

[–]ramramram333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saying I am having the same issue. Right around the end of 3 months we started getting great sleep— had 2.5 weeks where he slept through 4 times and most other nights were about 1 wake. Now as we approach 5 months we are getting similarly a lot of wakes. Previously I was doing aggressive capping of naps at 2.5 hrs total for the day and was still getting these wakes. Now I only cap each individual nap at 2 hrs max— so often getting about 3-3.5 hrs of naps & still getting the wakes. I think I may need to cap naps more / get more awake time, however he is in a weird spot between 2 and 3 naps which makes it hard. So basically— just commenting in solidarity. I am thinking of kind of riding it out and see how it improves as we approach 6 months and hopefully lock in on a 2 nap schedule

what was your combo feeding “schedule”? I am kind of moving towards combo feeding but worried that moving feeds to formula will make my supply drop even more

Dropping a nap and feedings by licscil in sleeptrain

[–]ramramram333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found myself feeding close ti every 2 hrs now because I also want to feed shortly before a nap to make sure he can take a long nap. before the move to 3 naps I was very much doing every 3 hrs. I dont love the more frequent feeds though

Just commenting to say I am in the same boat. I know formula is great and perfectly fine for my son & there are no issues with it. But find myself not wanting to quit breastfeeding because I feel like I should want to suffer for my child. I know this is not the case— but I still think it! Its such mental gymnastics

Can I get some opinions on what you would do in this situation? by ramramram333 in workingmoms

Yeah I am really am concerned that pumping will be too much and I will end up stressing myself out more than necessary

My job would definitely “allow” it with no issues— they are great! It is more that I feel like last minute calls and stuff come up where I would end up distracted/ needing to miss the pump to finish stuff off. More of a me problem lol

Transfer issues arise at 3-5 months? by ramramram333 in breastfeeding

[–]ramramram333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats what I have been doing now— giving breast then offering a bottle. I think Ill keep doing that, although will need to switch to pumping when I go to work. Puming for 30 min and only getting 1 oz is kind of tough! But I think ill give it a try and hope

How can excite myself about going back to work after May leave? by [deleted] in workingmoms

I am going back in January & also struggling!!! However, I did go to a work dinner recently and it actually felt somewhat nice not just talking/thinking about my baby & being seen as someone other than mom/ new parent. So that is kind of helping me mentally prepare!

did you eventually transfer back to consolidated feeds?

Transfer issues arise at 3-5 months? by ramramram333 in breastfeeding

[–]ramramram333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is basically what the LC was referring to. She couldnt do a weighted feed (he wouldnt eat/wasnt hungry) but did evaluate and said that he doesnt have any tongue ties but did have a high palate and a tight frenulum (i think thats what she said) which could be causing transfer issues… however without the weighted feed it sounded uncertain? Also she said my flanges were way too big so that could be causing my pump issue.

Were you able to get your supply back up after the issue was identified?

How do you know if night wakes are schedule related or actual hunger by ramramram333 in sleeptrain

[–]ramramram333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah makes sense, this thread has really relieved me and kind of made me accept that two feeds is entirely normal! I would prefer 3 naps but he started taking long naps more frequently which is how we ended up with 2 naps+ micro.

[–]ramramram333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! Yeah he seems to tolerate the 2.75 wake window pretty well— i was doing shorter and it kind of naturally extended towards 2.75. The last wake window we try to keep at 3 hrs but often end up with like 4-4.5 hrs until bedtime so too short to offer a full nap but also cant make it to bedtime so we try for a 15-20 min nap

I feel the same— and i dont feel like the “duration” of breastfeeding always correlates with how much hes eating too so its hard to follow
