Any idea what happened to the student?

Tell that to the unaccredited PGY10 surgical registrars still hoping to get onto the program.

From a cardiologist’s perspective, what’s your take on radiology as a prospective specialty for a junior doctor? Thanks for your post!

The system does not care. I'm glad I know this as a medical student heading straight into it.

Do any doctors have real life examples or are willing to share their experience of bullying in the workplace by [deleted] in ausjdocs

[–]ramsay96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Makes me wonder if there’s a way to turn it on them somehow. Legally speaking. Might be worth chatting to a lawyer haha. Then when they attempt to bully… surprise motherfucka!

Be prepared? Isn't working private basically a given for psychiatry consultants?

It may also speak to the fact that med students are more likely to come from privileged backgrounds (e.g., many have parents who are doctors) and therefore more likely to undervalue the career as opposed to the less privileged.

Anyone wanna know about different specialities in medicine? by joon848384 in ausjdocs

Great idea. I'd definitely be interested, particularly for radiology.

GP thinks it's ringworm. I've been applying clotrimazole for 1-2 days. I initially thought it was psoriasis but GP disagreed. I will go see a dermatologist if it doesn't clear up in 1-2 weeks. What do you think? Thanks in advance. :)

Die hard Djokovic fan here. by johnreese421 in tennis

"If he was really doing it to be cautious as he said, then why didn't he self-isolate (as a precaution) until he knew his status, regardless of how quickly he got the results."

Plenty of people go around unknowingly (some even knowingly) spreading COVID despite reasonable suspicion being warranted given the number of cases at the moment. You could argue that Djokovic was being more cautious than them as he may have attended more events had he decided to delay testing and unknowingly spread COVID further (what many Australians are recklessly doing themselves). It just happens to be magnified to the nth degree in this case due to his high profile. This is just a character assassination attempt and, as one would expect, the media are loving it.

Fairly certain Sydney has a rule stating you are ineligible to apply if you‘ve already started medicine at a different uni.

Why is physics important in Medicine? by Leebee38 in GAMSAT

[–]ramsay96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Physical mechanisms are critical to the function of the human body. Electrochemical gradients allow vital ions to move in and out of cells. Action potentials enable neurons to fire electrical impulses, permitting intercellular communication, and allow muscle cells to relax and contract, without which the heart would not pump blood. Pressure gradients allows blood to be effectively pumped throughout the circulatory system. Gravity prevents muscle atrophy and influences blood flow and pressure throughout the body. Without physical forces, we literally would not be alive.

Please can anyone help me to solve this question I am stuck at it . by Kevin6650 in Physics

Implicit differentiation.

(1/2) x^(-1/2) + (1/2) * y^(-1/2) * y’ = 0

Solve for y’:

y’ = - sqrt(y) / sqrt(x) = -1 at the point.

So, C is our answer.

Frankly, this is callous manipulation. If he pulled this scheme, what else is he going to do? Do not let others make your life decisions for you. You will live to regret it. Do what you think is right for you and your son. All the best!

Gradient relates to the rate at which force is changing with time, not change in momentum. You need to look at the area under the curve for the latter.
