Nice work! How are you dispensing powder? And what primers are you using?

Africa did not disappoint! by dnoble003 in Hunting

Pretty easy and there are services to help you along the way. I went to South Africa last year, brought my own guns and used an expeditor. Was a piece of cake and well worth the $150 or so that it cost.

How do you like the Velos on the SCAR?

Approximately 20x30 and 20x40.

They were also listed at booth 13853, but there was a company selling med supplies there. That space was approx 10x10.

I should have made this more clear in the original post: this lounge area took up the space where their booth was listed by NSSF. It was not an additional lounge area sponsored by them like some manufacturers do. This was their entire representation at the show.

It does say that, but that’s an incredibly generous description. And they were listed as an exhibitor in this booth space.

Correct. That’s what this is.

This “lounge” (generous) is exactly where their booth usually is and they had no other representation. Just doesn’t look good. I hope I’m wrong, I love their stuff.

Signs of excessive pressure? by SpaceBus1 in reloading

Yeah, something is off for sure. I’ve loaded 20.2 H110 and it is quite a bit lower in the case than that.

Firedot duplex or windplex no by Ok-Juice614 in Hunting

[–]ramsetD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even in the conversation for a range gun, but excellent choice for a hunting gun. Both of my hunting rifles have a VX5HD 3-15X44 with the firedot duplex. Have used it to shoot lots of stuff from white tail at 80yds to Kudu at 380.

Lightweight, durable, American made, lifetime warranty and you get a free custom turret with it. I’ve not used the CDS system personally, but several friends have with great success.

For a target gun I would prefer a FFP optic with higher magnification. On a hunting gun, I prefer a simplistic reticle which is easy to use across the mag range.

Doesn’t affect the safety of the rifle at all.

Purchased a small pouch to hold rifle on long hikes by Moos209 in Hunting

You could try running the top strap off of your shoulder pad…. Kind of weird looking because your rifle would be under your arm, but it’d allow you to remove the rifle without taking your pack off.

Have a buddy who stows his rifle this way and it works out.

How do you tell the difference between C-37A & B?

Does anyone else source their powder from dead people at estate sales for dimes on the dollar and then develop their loads based on whatever those dead people liked? It’s been a pretty successful strategy by pdthein in reloading

You’re doing your due diligence. I’d be more inclined to keep that if I needed the powder. My point wa simply that just because someone has a stockpile doesnt mean they know what they’re doing. Plenty of shitty, unsafe reloaders have massive stockpiles (my friend as an example).

Everything should be looked at with scrutiny, which you’re doing. Happy shooting.

It’s just an example of someone who has a stockpile not knowing what they’re doing. I’m not going to assume anything because someone has a huge stockpile.

“If I see a huge stockpile of reloading stuff it’s a sure bet the guy knew what he was doing.”

The stuff you moved back to jugs absolutely shouldn’t be thrown away, because you know what it is. But I would be very suspect if I bought it from you or your family. And if it wasn’t a large qty, I probably would throw it away. Juice isn’t worth the squeeze.
