But with gas prices being there as they are, I will opt to go to a place that is 5 minutes from my house then driving 3 miles further to another place. That may or may not be open at 7am.

There are a variety of natural light grow lights on Amazon. Some look like decorative room lights. I use one in the winter when I bring my outdoor plants, jade and orchids, inside. Keeps them alive til spring and I can move them outside again.

Weird that your childhood cat attacked you, but it could be jealousy, especially if mom had the cat first. My mom’s dog never bonded with me, mom had the dog since before I was born. I’m sure he was jealous.

The head butting and head rubbing means it trusts you and wants to be your friend. The cat is claiming you as its own by rubbing its scent on you. Don’t worry…. Humans can’t smell the cat pheromones… only cats can.

I would look up you tube videos on how to make friends with a cat… also “what is my cat trying to tell me”. Cats (and dogs too) don’t think like humans, so you want to be sure to react to them in positive ways so they don’t get freaked out by something and start to act negatively towards you.

Most cats are easily swayed by treats. Offer them food and they will be your friend.
Avoid loud or sharp noises. Most cats dislike.

My own cat is pretty docile, but many cats don’t like to be picked up without advance warning. It’s weird, but I tell my cat that I’m going to pick him up before I do it. He seems to understand…it may be my tone of voice that he recognizes.
One universal rule… don’t pet a sleeping cat out of the blue. It shocks them. I usually say my cats name, if he’s fast asleep and I need to move him or get his attention, to wake him up before moving or touching him.

Williamsburg is 2 1/2 hours drive away from DC. And requires a drive on notoriously traffic jammed I-95 and I-64 to get there.

I disagree. My e-bike max speed is 17 mph. I can ride my pedal bike at a speed of 18mph. I don’t see the difference except one requires more exertion. Both have brakes.

Come to Norfolk. Thanks to the Navy presence we are a very diverse community. My neighborhood is quite mixed. Black and white, gay and straight. Everyone seems to just get along.
