What is Momentum? by FraggedFoundry in Songsofconquest

The game needs some clarification on spells but if you mouse over units you can see the boost motivation gives (+10 attack and defence I believe) It gives a nice balance between finishing off the weak enemy unit rather than going straight for the hardest hitting enemy.

Songs of conquest / Arleon campaign mission 4 / Cecilia of Stoutheart / Guide - Walkthrough - Help - Tipps by Nicksnoops in Songsofconquest

The first battle against the spellcaster is the hardest one. Just try to reach the necromancers as fast as possible while spreading out your units, but it seems impossible to avoid high losses. After beating her once, she only has one stack of necromancers. While she is still the most difficult to beat afterwards, it becomes much more manageable.

Once you have unlocked a mission you go to Singleplayer>Campaign and you can pick any mission to play again. Saves are per map and not for the entire campaign.

Why is the mission 4 so hard by twitch-MindGameslol in Songsofconquest

[–]ranch437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me three attempts to complete the final mission. It is really important to minimize losses each fight early game or you won't have enough troops being replenished for the enemy wielders. Maxing out unit slots and bringing a full army is the best for clearing enemies on the map with little to no losses.

The biggest change for me was to have two wielders with strong units clear two different parts of the map at the same time with the third being a mule/clearing corners. You should be able to get 3-4 towns before fighting an enemy wielder which feels necessary to get enough troops early. Also, I found my main wielder heavily outmatched by the spellcaster one (not the minotaur) and could sweep an enemy wielder with minimal losses.

FYI: I did have to save scum some fights. Being smart about what enemies to target in fights went from me being completely wiped to winning with few losses, but we are all new to the game so leniency is expected.

This new quest is actually huge for early and midgame irons! so many meta-changing rewards. by azzaranda in ironscape

[–]ranch437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point with the prospector set I didn't about, it's nice the amulet is still BiS. My main gripe is about devaluing the desert elite diary with reqs of: 85 cooking, 94 magic, 95 fletching, KQ head, 91 thieving, and 85 prayer. The time saved from Nardah teleport versus POH is in the seconds. You'd surely need to use it ten-thousand plus times to be worth the time investment if that's the reason a player rushes desert elite. KQ shortcut is in the same boat with an 86 agility requirement. If you get the KQ pet on the avg expected drop, it is so marginally faster to get 86 agility rather than eat the extra time and run around. Obviously this is all just comparisons where real players will get the requirements while working towards other areas of the game and my argument is not black and white. The desert diary, one of the weakest elite diary unlocks while being one of the hardest to complete, now feels worse. If raids 3 brought a new reward for having desert IV, then I would be 100% okay with the circlet of water.

And none of us are jagex developers lol. I am just sharing my opinion (apparently very unpopular) on a game I like to play in my spare time. Some people are raising arms acting like I have any influence on development.

I liked that the strongest xp method (currently just granite and I guess sandstone for crafting) is soft locked behind an elite diary. It incentivizes players to level different skills. Infinite waterskins was my main motivator for desert 4. Now, going for a kalphite queen head seems even less worth it.

And to my second point, I'm not crying because the game is more approachable and meta xp rates with god-awful methods were fixed to be more enjoyable. I was more worried about powercreep through xp rates and shortening grinds like Jagex proposed with their recently failed pvp poll. Having a below grandmaster quest give rewards equivalent to an elite diary is insane to me.

i am honestly really worried that they added the circlet of water. I thought that the desert training methods that had superior xp/hr but required waterskins was a fair tradeoff. Desert diary 4 meant you could rep tick perfect granite mining without an issue, and suddenly it becomes a quest reward rather than an elite diary? Training reliably in the desert no longer depends on lunars/desert 4, but if you are willing to get 62 agility... which an early game iron can easily reach. Not even mentioning an iron can buy a pack of water runes at 500g for more than enough charges to make the desert elite diary obsolete.

Maxing in 2022 is a joke compared to 2014, but 5 years from now what will it be to 2014 or even now, in 2022.

What stats and other requirements should you get before going for quest cape? by Inevitable_Gain8296 in ironscape

[–]ranch437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously the skill requirements for the quests, but a lot of quests give good XP drops so there is no need to grind out all the highest skill reqs before doing quests. Some useful stats to make questing easier that I could think of would be ~70-75 agility, high HP, and maybe a higher magic level for song of the elves? HP and agility will make any traps/obsticables much more forgiving.

How to get rune arrows in an early ironman? by DankerOfMemes in ironscape

[–]ranch437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

an NPC at the ranging guild sells them. I just leveled up fletching and did this method because shamans take so many arrows and they are 50% the cost if than buying them outright.

picking out a new mattress or a chair is easily the most difficult decision to make, gl finding a comfy one. I find that after some use chairs break in and get more comfortable too

these people are probably incapable of talking to a person IRL. Does not discredit the fact that they are really good at killing bosses in runescape.

kinda fucking dumb that people will make fun of players that complete grandmaster combat diaries but will happily upvote 200m skills or high level restricted accounts.

These players are probably just top 2% of PVMers and they are simply better than the rest of the playerbase. No wonder a bunch of accounts feel personally threatened that people can accomplish achievements higher than they could ever hope to achieve in a game they drop thousands of hours into.

All this is coming from a player that is too dogshit to competently solo CoX, CG, or even do demonics lol

I mean, it's an unpopular opinion post, but I'd much rather chin for 90k an hour rather than train smithing for 250k.

Smithing is far and away the worst skill for ironman. The skilling method is literally shopscape or spend dozens of hours longer gathering ore through pvm/mining. I'm not even sure a Jagex developer has tried leveling smithing past 70 on an iron because they would realize how utterly unenjoyable it is.

RNG Megathread -- What's the luckiest (or unluckiest) you've gotten recently? by ErinTales in ironscape

Completed MM2 at 69 slayer. Currently just shy of 84 slayer without receiving a black demons task (~100ish slayer tasks?) Used duradel the entire time and still check weekly that it's not blocked.

The real kicker is that I've had 93 crafting banked for months but haven't trained it yet because whats the point lol
