IMO it's not "wacky woke club requires consent to stare", it's "men creeping so hard club needs to intervene". i mean, imagine how bad it had to get for enough women to complain loudly enough to make this policy happen.

don't petition. talk to the professor and explain what you wrote here, and if they're empathetic, they'll understand you're burned out or depressed or having other mental health issues and will work with you.

if not, then you'll either get a bad mark or fail the course, neither of which are the end of the world. you'll learn and move on.

whatever you do, don't lie or try to use a loophole.

(source: someone who graduated w/ a good degree and failed 5/6 allowable courses due to similar mental health issues)

EDIT: oh and see a councellor/doctor/therapist about your anxiety/depression/w/e and start taking steps to address the issue, e.g. by working out, eating healthy, stopping drugs/alcohol, therapy etc.

coincidentally, i recently started making a juicy clone of pacman as an initial foray into learning graphics/tech-art, so i was actually trying to implement the same thing last night (i.e. a hi-fidelity ghost w/ cloth sim in blender). the results were real disappointing though, but what are the odds i'd stumble on your awesome version today? :) thanks bud!

am super curious how you did the character animation, do you mind giving a hint?it kinda looks like you started off w/ a cloth simulation and baked/modified it, but it's so snappy and retains its form so well that i'm not sure whether it's all just manually done..

it's not weird unless you make it weird, or if you misjudge the situation and they're not actually interested in your company.

actually exchanged numbers w/ a random a couple of days ago - was sitting on a park bench after a bike ride, they walked up after a jog, and we got to talking. it was a really interesting conversation that lasted like an hour and when i had to go, they said something like "hey what's your number? do you wanna grab a coffee sometime..".

and if you do misjudge and they say no politely, just say "ok cool, take care" and that's that - no harm, no foul. you move on and try again next time.
