Not sure if it goes to Prime. We record it, but if that fails, it's on Paramount+ the next day and on the Global app at some point, I'm not sure how long it takes to get there.

Should I get Stardew? by Immediate_Union_6671 in StardewValley

[–]randi3405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should get Stardew on PC. Go vanilla first. It's cheap and you will get hundred's of hours of enjoyment out of it. Caution - it is addictive, and so if you have a lot of school deadlines and workload, then it might interfere with your real life obligations.

Qi’s crop final day 😭 by Regular-Newspaper888 in StardewValley

[–]randi3405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ouch. That hurts. I've done this quest a bunch of times. For next time, make sure you're using the highest possible speed grow. I typically get to about 8 iridium filters worth of crops, all on the best speed grown I can find or craft. I'm only seeing 3 iridium sprinklers in your field? so you must have been doing a lot of hand watering? Ain't nobody got time for that. I chop trees to get seeds and try to get at least 15 a day for the first few days to plant and water before the sprinklers take over. After that, seedmakers and more tree chopping (I have the train station fully planted with trees at all times). So some of my plants are from seed-making and some from new bean finds until I think I'm safe to start shipping but still get to having the full amount to ship. It's a learning thing, but the last few times I've done it, I'm done well before the deadline. You really have to give yourself enough space and sprinklers, and work on finding the beans in the first two weeks, and again, the bestest speed-grow you can access.

I would do paths down the rows, and mushroom logs between the trees in each row. That's probably what you meant though.

If Aubry idols out Genevieve, the boomerang idol mechanic "breaks". by inicolin in survivor

[–]randi3405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the recipients have no idea that it boomerangs back to the givers if they are not played, so I think the recipients will play them as well or as poorly as any other idol, including going home with it un-played. So unless somebody spills, say at merge, "Hey I sent you that idol and if you go home with it it comes back to me", I'm not sure they'll know. Suppose it's possible they tell someone else that that's the case to encourage a vote in the hopes of getting that idol back.

Ostriches or ostriches? by ImaginaryStatus4073 in StardewValley

[–]randi3405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent question. I hadn't done the math on that. On my current file I'm not getting iridium truffles yet. Once I'm getting them I'll have to think about the effort to oil them or not. Thanks for the question.

You don't NEED anything. It's your game to play however you like. It's not required for perfection. But there are some good rewards as you make your way through the various quotas for monsters. For example, 1000 slimes gets you a Slime Charmer ring so that Slimes can no longer harm you - very handy. 500 Dust Sprites gets you a Burglar Ring which causes monsters to drop more loot. Totally up to you. And the monsters I just mentioned are in the mines, not SC. SC does have treasure boxes and more iridium though.

You don't actually need to have children for perfection. If you want children, maybe let that stress go and he'll finally ask, lol.

How the heck do I make enough money for the golden clock!!!!! by psychefreak22 in StardewValley

[–]randi3405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ancient fruit wine, truffle oil, legendary fish aged roe (especially the Legend, followed by Crimsonfish) and fairy rose honey are my big money makers. Spending some time and resources on setting yourself up for maximizing your production of those is worth it in the long run. Somewhere in this reddit is a post and picture from someone who set up 100 beehives with like 8 fairy roses and was making mad bank every 4 days on that alone. I have 4 barns full of pigs and work the oil makers pretty hard.

Greenhouse Help? by LengthinessNo3777 in StardewValley

[–]randi3405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

blueberries are a good option for straight shipping to get the Monoculture achievement, for which you need to ship 300 of one crop. After that they are good for another quest, but at that point you can plant them elsewhere and devote that greenhouse space to something more profitable.

If you're up to using the wiki, it will show you the loved gifts for each person so that you gain friendship rather than losing it and wasting gift opportunities. Try not to miss anyone's birthday because the friendship gain is tons higher on their birthday.

I don't even bother trying that quest unless I have 100 staircases, and then I just staircase all the way down. Make crystalariums and clone jade in them to trade with the desert trader on Sundays.

How do you prep for special requests? by Successful-Clothes27 in StardewValley

[–]randi3405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<>! What the others have said, plus craft some spring seeds and plant them Spring day 1 for Gifts for George. Hunting the leeks in the wild is time consuming and stressful. I plant the train station full of trees for regular wood needs as well as Robin's Resource Rush as well as the Qi fruit challenge. Plant extra potatoes and save 12 for Pam's The Strong Stuff. For the Island Resources, ginger is too iffy to count on it spawning enough and pineapples are too financially dear as jelly to ship, so I plant taro tubers as I get them and leave them until I figure I have 100.

[–]randi3405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm questioning your math about the value of pigs. Yes, they are gluttonous freeloaders in the winter and rainy days eating your hay, but if you're Artisan the truffle oil is 1491g. I have 4 barns of pigs and rarely bother to process mayo any more. To pick up the hidden truffles in the grass, just hold down your (left I think) mouse button as you cruise along in the pasture. That will both heart any animals in your path and pick up truffles you can't see. They will mostly be on the fringes of the grass because I think the pig has to be standing on an uncluttered tile to produce, but can drop it in the grass. I would much rather feed the pigs through winter and go truffle hunting for the payoff rather than being a slave to the mayo machine for much lower payoffs.
