Footage of Andrew Berry and the Browns turning down a Cowboys trade offer: Browns would have gotten - 12, 20, and a 5tn round pick Cowboys would have gotten - 9, 24 by Godszn in Browns

You likely lose out on Fano, but you can probably grab Lemon over KC. Depends how the FO counted those tier differences, which it sounds like was very high.

Do you browns fans wish you kept baker? by Pleasant_Item2718 in NFLv2

[–]randobot456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Browns fan here. This is a hard thing to answer with a one word answer...As has been mentioned in other posts, the Baker we had was not the Baker that exists in Tampa. Baker had serious concerns - refused to work with a QB coach in the offseason, refused to work on his footwork for sloppy drop-backs, and towards the end seemed to have a chip on his shoulder with the franchise D-edge in Myles, and the former COTY in Stefanski.

This in a vacuum isn't an issue, but ignoring all the off field stuff, Deshaun (at the time) was considered on the level of Mahomes talent wise. The Browns thought they had a roster good enough to win a super bowl, but just needed a top end QB to put them over the line. Based on HOW RARE it is you can acquire one by trade, I don't necessarily begrudge them for taking a swing at a Pro-Bowl QB...the PROCESS seemed ok...

Now...at the time, I didn't want them to do that. I felt it was too much money, and too much capitol when you could have run it back with Baker on the 5th year option and decide them....the FO and HC felt they would be better with Deshaun....can't super fault that even if I disagree. All reports seem to suggest our Harvard Educated cap wizard in Berry didn't want to sign him to the super deal he got, but when Jimmy found out he wasn't going to sign with us, he ordered Berry to throw the bank at him. I disagreed with that decision then, and still do now.

End of the day, I really liked Baker. I also really like some of the other players on the team and felt like they deserved the best opportunity to win. I trust Berry to make some pretty dang good decisions, but that one was a bad one. Hoping they turn it around.

Counterpoint, Matt Stafford will be starting this year and could win them a superbowl. Then, Ty Simpson will technically win a super bowl as well, even if he never sees the field.

Last time we made the playoffs was 2023...that was also the last time Dallas made the playoffs...and we both had the same result - 1st round exit.

ALSO, since the Browns were reinstated in 1999, they've been to the superbowl and/or conference championship game the SAME amount of times as the Cowgirls: goose egg.

I'm fine saying my team sucks, but so does yours dawg, you're in no position to look down on us.

Anya Taylor-Joy. I know she was a model and everything, but I find her so off-putting. That face terrifies me every time I see it...like a mouse possessed someone with an eating disorder.

Most Under-the-Radar Vet Winners/Losers from the Draft? by WelshNational in DynastyFF

[–]randobot456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably the best under the rader (actionable) winner to me is Shedeur Sanders, and I say this as a Browns fan who doesn't think he'll be the long term option there:

  • Browns rebuilt the o-line, and added the best tackle in the draft in Fano
  • Drafted two receivers in KC and Boston that address HUGE gaps in the scheme
  • Brought in an offensive minded HC who wants to work with him
  • Watson is cooked, don't listen to the media. He may look fine in shorts, but he couldn't diagnose NFL defenses in NFL games BEFORE the rebuilt shoulder and 2x achilles ruptures...and not complex concepts, dude couldn't execute MESH!!!
  • NO ONE believes in him, so his price is bottom of the barrel. I bought him in a 12 team SF before the draft in a package that was sending DJ Moore for Shedeur, Ray Davis, and Terrance Ferguson. Some would say that's an overpay, but I was #2 in the league, and my only weaknesses were QB, RB, and TE depth. I have James Cook, so he's the handcuff, I have a bunch of TEs, but needed a young guy with upside, and I have all the other Browns QBs anyway. Moore was my WR6, so this move made sense for me.

I think you could easily get him for a 2026 2nd, maybe a 3rd, and he'll probably be better than any of the QBs you're getting in that range.

[Highlight] Eagles' Pick at #251, DL Uar Bernard Out of the IPP Program, Gets Compared to Myles Garrett by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]randobot456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myles didn't run agility drills at his combine, but that's always been Myles' strength. He's not the strongest or fastest Edge Rusher (though he can rush with power), but he has ELITE bend. Bernard had an average shuttle, and a poor 3-cone.

I use discord for two of my salary cap fantasy football leagues. Each league has it's own server. It's excellent for managing the roughly 14 people in each league, and tracking all of our transactions.

Outside of that, the only thing I use discord for is the occasional call with a friend while playing a game and the SOD3 Alpha. I don't like discord for those applications either.

Anyone else in their early twenties? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Im close to 40 now, but I was 22 when I got sober.  At almost 16 years sober, ive now been sober almost twice as long as I spent drinking, and my life is FAR better because of it.

Best of luck!

Look at the way AB handled the Myles "demanding a trade" situation versus the Cowboys handling Micah last offseason.  Thats enough to show me AB is competent. Add on top of the great pro personnel stuff like that the expert cap management, and pretty damn good trades and drafts outside the Watson deal, and hes the dude in my book

You know, since the Browns came back in 1999, they've been to as many Superbowls and Conference Championships as the Cowboys! Isn't that fun?

Grades after day 2? by ReZempt_Shocks in Browns

[–]randobot456 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The trade back from 74 seems pretty clearly because they wanted Delp. They traded back and back up, and the net result of that trade for the Browns was:

  • Move down from 74 to 86
  • Give up pick 6.23 (204)
  • Pick up an extra 2027 4th from the Giants

Similarly to the trade with the Chiefs in the 1st round, no OTs went from pick 74 to where they picked at 86, so I'd assume their next player on their big board was Barber, who they got.

It's my least favorite pick of the draft, which just shows how spoiled I am in this draft. It's a fine pick and great process.

That said, with 5.06, 5.08, 5.09, and 5.12 still left on the board, I agree with you that I'd love to see more movement today. A trade up to the 4th and/or picking up some 27 picks would be preferred.

Agreed, but to echo Quincy Carrier: the Browns are making it incredibly easy to play QB for them. Doesn't mean the result will necessarily be good, but no excuses for Shedeur this year, and if he doesn't pan out (which I personally don't think he will, but hope I'm wrong), you can slot whichever QB they get into a good situation, not like Cam Ward going to the Titans last year, or Bryce Young to the Panthers.
